Nick has a very special way of relating real events. I found this book very compelling and exciting to read, not only because of the author's straightforward style, but because these were real events.

Mangieri's books bring to mind the nonfiction of Peter Maas, author of Serpico. However, Mangieri's work has a sharper edge, simply by virtue of the fact that it is based on his personal experiences and is told in his own words. His books are well worth our attention.

Outstanding read. I salute the author for his honesty and resolve. Having been assigned to Washington,DC as a member of the armed forces my observations paralleled that of the author's. As a Federal Investigator the author uncovered wrongdoing and by the oath of his office pursued the corruption. A Great Read! This is the Real World Folks! Read it! You won't put it down until you close the rear cover. The author should have received a medal.

There is some real suspense here........1999-04-01

This book gives the reader a vivid experience of the day-to-day reality of a white-collar crime investigator. Although the blurb tells us that the author didn't get his main targets, nevertheless he came very close to thwarting his adversaries (who certainly knew they'd been in a fight), and readers will be surprised to see what successes Mangieri had and how his efforts fell short. It's also encouraging to read about some of the allies Mangieri picked up, groups who work largely out of the spotlight but help greatly in keeping corruption and incompetence from wrecking our system altogether.

A fascinating read!.......1999-02-12

I really enjoyed this book, which tells of corruption in an important government investigator's job. Nick Mangieri dealt with very difficult issues that most of us don't have to face in our day-to-day lives. Despite the pressure, he kept his head and his integrity intact. We can all learn a lot from his story.

While the book is full of useful tips and suggestions it doesn't have much in the way of reducing getting all these bags in the first place. Would have been nice to educate people on this aspect too. E.g. encouraging people to use resuable shopping bags.

"Let Every Child Be Wanted" is an excellent book in story telling and history reviewing on world's contraceptives social marketing. Besides its vivid and detailed description of many interesting events, it is also a classic textbook on the development, the principles and the practice of the social marketing programs. This is a great book not only for those social marketing pros, but also I believe sales/marketing people, entrepreneurs, health professionals, social workers, government officials and even recreactional readers will find it very interesting and beneficial. I enjoy reading it very much.

Excellent Read - Late Night Page Turner.......1999-12-01

If you are interested in social marketing, HIV prevention, or family planning (as I am), this book is a late night page turner. It contains plenty of description and discussion on the practical and concrete side of actually running a program - a must for anyone in the field - as well as a colorful history on social marketing. However, it goes beyond that to answer some of the academic debate on cost effectiveness, program efficiencies, and issues such as pricing, measuring results, and social marketing "models." Most of all, this book had me laughing out loud with anecdotal stories of Bangladeshi Presidents requesting that condom signs be taken down, descriptions of rotating heart-shaped waterbeds in the Philippines, and stories about condoms from around the world. VH1 Behind the Music Willie Nelson.......2005-06-01

When I first saw the book it drew my attention to the cover becasue of the colors they used and the picture on the front. This book did not only show how hard it was for Willie and His older sister living with their grandma and grandpa, but how much Willie and his sister had a love for music. Willie is a great song writer and singer and I think that he will be singing untill he is 92 (72 now). Overall The book was great and i really enjoyed reading it. I would reccomend it to anyone who loves Willie, Country Music or Smoking Doobies.

Just try to beat The Red Headed Stranger..........2003-11-23

This book ,while covering Willie's whole career, fills out the part of his career which mainly came after the autobiography written in 1988.It was the time when the tax problems seemed unbeatable.However ;the Government could no more beat him than could the Nashville establishment.In the end he would be honored by both of them.
"If he had been spinning his wheels before coming to Austin,Willie found traction just down the road from his old hometown.At an age when many entertainers are considered past their prime,Willie was starting a new movement.He had reinvented himself and created a new niche for country music in the process.
Willie was once again about to prove that he would not be restrained by some preordained set of rules written by someone else".
Not only that,he did it in Austin without the 'help' of Nashville.Yes ,in the end Nashville heaped rewards on him and finally recognized his talents.This was not by choice,but by necessity;because the fans were way ahead of them.
An excellent book on a Living Legend;and includes many excellent photographs.
As to his wives:
"There's no such thing as an ex-wife,there's only additional wives"."I've learned that.And that's not necassarily a negative,either,because I'd rather have an ex-wife who's a friend than an ex-wife who's not a friend".

Louis Kahn is considered by many to be the greatest modern architect. His design for the Jewish Community Center on the outskirts of Trenton, New Jersey, which he began in 1954, epitomizes the essential forms for which Kahn is known. Great Book!.......2006-06-03

This is a great book about one of Kahn's overlooked masterpieces! It's easy to read and incredibly well-researched. I think it's a shame that I haven't seen this book in more museum bookshops. While Solomon mainly focuses on the one work, the book addresses many important issues related to Kahn's career, his religion, and spirituality.
