HIstory Repeats Itself.......2002-08-14
As I listen to this program, I realized how many of today's problems are repeats of history. Reagan answered a lot of them. Whether one agrees with him or not, his answers are concise and easy to understand.
The media has protrayed Reagan as someone who doesn't know much, and this program proves media's wrongful bias. Reagan read constantly, and he is well versed in many subjects.
I don't always agree with Reagan, but I do admire this true American hero.
Uncommon Wisdom From An Uncommonly Wise Leader.......2002-06-08
"The Uncommon Wisdom of Ronald Reagan" is a short book of Reagan quotes which both brings back memories and gives us an insight into this extraordinary leader.
Organized into six chapters, this 166 page book categorizes the quotes into periods of Reagan's life or by subject matter. The categorization aids the reader in finding a specific quote or words on a specific topic.
While not an in-depth study of Reagan's career, it is a worthwhile survey of the wisdom of this good and wise man. Read and enjoy.
A great book for any fan of Ronald Reagan........1999-05-27
A wonderful book for any one looking to learn more about Ronald Reagan through his own words. This book is excellent, with a collection of quotes from Reagan encluding his views on his early years in politics, his presidency and life after the presidency.

Benjamin and Henderson have authored a well respected series of books about gas station memorabilia and history. They also publish the magazine Petroleum Collectibles Monthly. This book has step-by-step illustrations of visible glass cylinder lever action, clockface meter and electric computing gas pumps. Quilts for kiddies.......2007-04-25
Wonderful book! I loved it! It's very detailed. Photographs are nice quality. Very pleased!
Quick yet effective.......2007-03-17
20+ quilt patterns. The patterns are interesting but quick - you really can pull it all together in a weekend. (Which is good for a working mum with little patience :-). Some require pre-planning, cutting and even some applique ahead of time.
I adore the pattern for "Baby's Love Blanket". Simple, effective quilt with a few little hearts - I felt I had accomplished something pretty in next to no time. The speed was certainly in the size - just 50x42cm all up - a perfect little quilt for a crib or pram. A pattern to have up your sleeve for that last minute baby-gift.
When I can get the kids sorted, I intend to make the "'Me and Mine' Quilt" - patches of their pictures on a plain quilt. Something I will treasure after they have grown too far to appreciate the simple things.

Fitkid7 is a great book on childhood fitness & health. It covers the issues of exercising, healthy eating and much much more.
I found it was easy to read (unlike a few others I've tried).
I love all the sections on Recipies, Shopping lists, meal ideas etc.
I would recommend FitKid7 to anyone looking for a book on kid's health. Your kids would love to read it just as I have.
Sirkka Wolke has done a great job on this one.****** 6 stars from me!

This is an excellent source for the serios student of vernacular architecture. Noble's book is thorough. He introduces the reader to the evolution of barns and catagorizes barnes by ther ethnic orgin - i.e. German Barn; English Barn. The book contains many photos, but as imoprtant are the plan and section diagrams that Noble provides. This is an excellent sourcebook.

Brave New Family.......2007-03-22
This is a collection of Chesterton's musings on family life, etc. He is a mater of language, and therefore it is delightful to read. His stance on many things is not for the faint of heart.
Could it be??.......2006-06-29
Unless I'm mistaken, this most be the english language edition of spanish writer Alvaro De Silva's book called "El Amor o la Fuerza del Sino", one of the most fascinating books about Love, Family, and Marriage ever written.
This is basically a compilation of genius G.K. Chesterton's essays, poems and chapters that deal with those matters.
In a world where families continually live under the attacks and pressures of modern society, the timeless truths expressed by these selected works by Chesterton (and some of those published here are extremely hard to find) bring a touch of comfort and fresh air that will be heartily welcomed by any real free-thinking reader, or any family for that matter.
A must buy for any Chestertonian!

One of my teachers told me that letters by famous people are usually very dull. Sad to say this seems to be the case here.
Skelton wrote a book on Hindemith and while that's great these selected letters seem to be missing a lot, a possibility suggested when Skelton says he didn't include material he considered of too personal a nature. I don't know if the Hindemith institute asked this or not but excerpts of some of the most interesting letters are missing, particularly the "moral conquest" letter he sent enclosed with Ludus Tonalis (which you can get in the Urtext edition); there he wrote scathing remarks about the Leningrad symphony and the American policy of promoting Russian music over German or italian music during the war years. The read is so dry I haven't even finished it yet and I get the strong sense that you wouldn't learn much more from this book than Skelton's earlier book. I've read A Composer's World and other books by Hindemith and can't shake the suspicion that Hindemith's letters were dull or, at least as likely, Skelton and co. wouldn't let us see the most readable parts.

Learned a lot about Warsaw ghetto.......2006-03-17
"On Both Sides of the Wall" is the story of Vladka Meed during World War 2 in Warsaw Poland. She provides an important perspective of what life was like both inside and outside the ghetto. Vladka was involved in the ghetto revolt and as a courier outside the ghetto. She was able to pass herself off as being non-Jewish. She helped to find hiding places for other Jews and kept in contact with those in hiding. Her story continues through to the Warsaw revolt - when the whole city was fighting against the German forces.
I have read dozens of WWII and holocaust books. I most enjoy those books, such as this, that are written from the perspective of the regular person (doing extraordinary things). I learned a lot from this book and recommend it highly.
