I found The Tax Map an extraordinarily helpful tool for visualizing the structure of the Internal Revenue Code. It puts together all the pieces in a way that made it much, much easier for me to visualize the whole code and understand its underlying dynamics. The way everything feeds into the big equation at the bottom is brilliant -- you can trace any one rule down to its resultant tax-liability function. If you're at all visually oriented, or if you have trouble thinking about the intricacies of tax, I highly recommend this aid.

fantastic reference for German military vehicles.......2007-08-01

This book is a must for anyone interested in weaponry of WWII. A great source for the vehicles at the Kabinka Tank Museum outside of Moscow and the Munster Tank Museum in Germany. I was amazed that there was a listing of the 12.8 cm Selbstfahriafeete L/61, of which only two were made, the only one in existence in the Kubinka museum. Thanks to the book I could figure out what was in the museums. Oft times they were not labeled correctly.

This book has every vehicle the German Army used during the war.

Exhaustive Coverage of Everything they Made.......2005-03-08

I've always wondered about the heavy German use of motorcycles with side cars. And I've been fascinated with the German use of the half track configuration.

This book answered all of my questions. The German half tracks, which came in a wide range of sizes had much better tracks than did the American M2/M3 (It was said that the American machines had rubber bands for tracks), but the German units were not four wheel drive. The little motorcycle looking halftrack was not a tracked motorcycle, but a small prime mover used to do things like haul aircraft around the field. And I've decided that what I really want is a Volkswagon Schwimmwagon, the four wheel drive amphibious vehicle (You can see of these at the Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles just off I-80 at Lexington, Nebraska.)

This book has more photographos of German military vehicles than I would have thought existed. Of course it covers all their tanks, but you find these in lots of books. Here are the rest of the vehicles - trucks, motorcycles, prime movers, everything that the Germans produced during World War II.

If these kinds of vehicles are your thing, this is a book you can't do without.

This book really looks at the misconceptions many Americans have about designing a home for themselves. The book asks the potential new home clients to re-think their logic in determining what spaces they really need. It has useful charts for analyzing room and space needs and has many beautiful photos of homes.

disapointing, if you are looking for inventive original creative design ideas and a well laid out premise of what really makes the smaller home work - perfect if what you want is the "typical" contractor/builder design style.

The Average Size Home Doesn't Have to Be Average.......2006-08-15

Note that smaller in this book doesn't mean the really tiny homes that have been featured in a number of books lately. What Mr. Sater means by smaller is homes that are around the size of the national average, say 2,500 square feet or less.

What this book clearly shows is that in homes of average size, the home does not have to be average in layout, furnishing, function, or anything else. Instead as the author says, the home should be a perfect fit for what you need the home to be. By being a perfect fit, he means that it should have the rooms, the space, the design to suit your use of the home.

Do you entertain formally a lot, perhaps you need a formal dining room?

Do you hate television and never turn it on, you don't need an entertainment center?

Are you thinking of extra rooms for the annual visit of the kids, perhaps a pull down bed in the family room would suffice.

This is the kind of thinking that he uses throughout this book, usually illustrating his thinking by pictures of houses that he has designed. It's a great idea book.

Carol Mayer has written a great book for parents of digit suckers and the child. We have a 7yo boy who is having a very hard time stopping his thumb sucking. The book is helpful in understanding why one should not suck and gives children positive self esteem building ideas and exercises to quit their habit. Our child likes working with the author in office and with phone follow up. It is the best tool for we who struggle with breaking this habit.

My son is 10 years old and was having problems giving up his thumbsucking habit. This book is written with love and caring for the spirit of the child. He never faltered and has been successful because he first of all wanted to do it and this book gave us all the tools to help him succeed. This book cannot do it for you but if you keep at it your child can only succeed. My older son is still trying. It's like a smoker who can't quite. They just need to set their mind to it. This book gives the kids all the support and rewards they need.

This is the greatest approach we have ever seen. Our 6 year old sucked her thumb so intensely we thought she would never stop. We tried everything ( Time-out, Bribery, Witholding privileges, Hot Sauce) & believe me, this program really works! Upon receiving the book, we sat down & went over the program. Our Daughter signed the contract , kept her charts & wore her "Thumb Gloves". It has been 8 weeks & she has not regressed once! It's not magic-- it's a non-invasive approach that involves a step-by-step process, putting the child in the drivers seat for controlling her habit. I would recommend this program to any parent & child who are serious about stopping the habit & can be dedicated to the program.

A Positive, Wonderful Approach to End Thumb & Finger Sucking.......1999-02-11

'My Thumb and I' worked like a charm. Being a mother of an 8 year old thumb-sucker and a 5 year old finger-sucker, I've tried everything. Nothing even came close to being successful until my children and I read Carol Mayer's wonderful book. What a fantastic approach...giving kids the self-esteem and sense of 'I Can Do It'! The reward system works great. My kids look forward to coloring in their charts and their nightly back rubs, and love doing the reinforcing and fun activities in the book. The most amazing thing is how easily they both stopped! And it happened in the very first week! We had the privilege of meeting and working with Carol Mayer. She is knowledgeable and caring, and even has the kids call her to update her on their progress, while giving them words of encouragement. They love her! I HIGHLY recommend this book. We never could have done this without her. My only regret is that we didn't hear about this book sooner! This book is a MUST READ for every family of a thumb-sucker!

Disappointing.......1999-01-01

As this book was recommend to me by a speech pathologist, I had high expectations. The small amount of information included in the book was stretched with puzzels and fill-in-the-blank exercises so it could fill the short 78 pages and be sold in book form rather than in a pamphlet attached to the glove as would be more appropriate.
