A very systematic approach to Financial Accounting.......2000-08-19

I read this book as a part of my Accounting class in my Masters program. The book has a very systematic approach to teach the basic accounting principles. It has very nice real world examples at the beginning of each chapter. The chapters are in a very orderly manner. I did not have an accounting background at all. But the book taught things in a way that everything made sense chapter after chapter. Each chapter conveyed ideas that were basis for the subsequent chapters. The organization of the book is one of the best among the text books I have read. Every chapter has a demonstration problem that covers main concepts in that chapter. In addition to that there are quick check questions within the chapter which helps you to stop and recollect whatever you learnt till different points in a chapter. Reading this book is never tiresome because of this. Also there are problems in each chapter that if worked out properly will provide a very thorough knowledge of key concepts. As a whole, I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who wants to start start learning Accounting. There are very minor errors in the answers given to some problems. But the way concepts are presented is very crisp and clear.

Book was a little more used than described, but hey for the price it couldn't be beat. To bad my sylabus was wrong and the professor changed the edition. Anyhow, seller was excellent. Fast shipping and I would reccommend.

My first accounting book.......2005-02-16

I used this textbook for my first accounting class and it was by far the best. Examples are all spelled out step by step and the numerous exercies and problems contribute to a higher level of understanding. Buy the workbook offered. It will save you a lot of time normally spent setting up the problem. Much better then some of the higher level books I have used.

Fundamental Accounting Principles.......2000-12-12

This text was VERY helpful. The illustrations and examples were enough to explain the topic without havung to read the entire book.. Also the problems given at the end of each section were very good. Some were tough; however, the author starts you out with easy problems and works up to the more difficult ones. This text definitely is a good learning aid.

He FELT Her Standing There.......2004-03-26

This book is a wonderful collection of Memories of many Magical Moments in the presence of Paul McCartney. The pictures span two and a half decades of devoted work. The author and Mr. McCartney connect in several of these pics,and he hams it up for her. Who but someone so tuned in to him, could capture these moments??. Linda McCartney appreciated Jorie Gracen and her work...what else needs to be said.? I highly recommend this book and hope that Ms. Gracen will put out another collection following his recent world tours.Anyone who appreciates Paul will thouroughly enjoy this book!!!!!!!!!

This is an excellent, fun book for any fan who has ever attended a Macca concert and I have attended many. It is also fun for people who have yet to experience the thrill of having Paul wink at them or point at their sign. I don't consider myself a "wacko" or a "stalker". I just enjoy seeing Paul in concert and reading this book brings back many memories, including the story I wrote for the book about Liverpool on June 28, 1990.

Great Pictures, great format.
Ms. Gracen gives us a fly on the wall view of McCartney's touring days. Closeups and rare photos. Well put together and an endless parade of snapshots. Perfect coffee table book. If you put this on your coffee table with ten other books it's almost guaranteed that this is the one your guests will pick up.

Hmmmm.......2003-02-16

After believing the hype and rushing to buy this book, I feel quite dissatisfied. In my opinion, there are only 2 pictures in the whole book. One of Paul performing, and the other of Paul and Linda kissing, which was the only picture in the book that was in any way different than anything else I've ever seen. Sorry, there was a third picture of the author as well. The stories were not too exciting or interesting, and the text is boring. I wish I had waited to thumb through it in the store. Oh well, I will know better the next time.

A MUST for all Macca fans!.......2003-02-07

Jorie Gracen's tome should be absorbed as slowly as possible for maximum " Macca Effect". She falwlessly captures both the essence of the man, his music, and his incrdible concert presence
with 35 millimeter magnificence. The talent, determination and sheer hard work of the superb photojournalist is overwhelmingly present in every frame. This book shou;ld be considered required reading for all the Maccamaniacs out there. Only physical presence at one of Paul's sold-out engagements could be more captivating. Great work, Jorie!!

Mordecai Noah, whose writings span from the 1800s to the 1840s, is the first important Jewish writer to appear on the American scene. In his own time, he was ranked with Washington Irving and James Fenimore Cooper as among the finest writers of the day. Noah is primarily known today as the visionary who proposed a Jewish homeland, to be called "Ararat" in upstate New York. But Noah also had a political career which was equally colorful. As American Consul to Tunis, Noah's plan to rescue American sailors held by the Barbary states nearly led to his own imprisonment and death. As Sheriff of New York, Noah freed all debtors when Yellow Fever broke out in the prisons, thereby becoming liable for a small fortune. This volume is the first modern selection of Noah's writings and includes not only some of Noah's better known works such as "She Would Be a Soldier" (1819), one of the most admired plays of its day, and "Discourse on the Restoration of the Jews" (1845), Noah's early plea for the establishment of a Jewish homeland in the Middle East. This volume also includes the first complete modern edition of the "Ararat" proclamation and speech (1825), detailing Noah's utopian scheme for a Jewish homeland in New York; also printed for the first time since its original publication is Noah's recently discovered tract, "Address...to Aid in the Erection of the Temple at Jerusalem" (1849). Schuldiner and Kleinfeld provide discussions of Noah's life and context for his writings as well as a selected bibliography of key writings by and about Mordecai Noah.
