Customer Reviews:
A useful book.......2007-01-06
I had two copies of this book with me while in Iraq and I made sure to give one copy to someone who would make good use of it. I found most of the contact indformation to be quite up-to-date while I was there in 2005 but of course things can change quickly over there. The book even provided some good background info and photos. Its small format makes it perfect for carrying in an ACU or DCU pocket.

Learn how to play earnings profitably.......2004-07-11
The booki s the best how to book on playing earnings and annoncements. Other than stocks splits, I cannot think of a more predictable or duplicatable way to make money in the markets than during earnings.
You won't find this information anywhere else. Great book Wade. Thanks for sharing.
Doubled my money in 1 day! Thanks WADE!.......2004-07-01
Following WADE's advice from his new MUST website, I bought calls on HPQ prior to expected news that Wade had predicted and came true and doubled my money in 1 day! Thanks WADE!
Welcome back Wade!.......2004-03-03
Glad to see that the great Wade B. Cook is back after a hiatus.
Looking forward to your seminars and new strategies.
Red Light Green Light is a excellent book. But one for yourself and one for your broker. If you broker disagrees, FIR HIM and find a new broker.
Great strategies.
Wade's best book to date.......2004-03-03
I just got this one and sincerely believe that RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT is Wade's best book to date.Regarding that 1 star reviewer, if you haven't guessed by now, it is really the same person reposting over and over again. Perhaps he can explain why his website that was a tabloid like website bashing Wade with massive deceptions got shut down? Hmmmm Gary?Anyway, please don't let one malcontent rob you of the opportunity to take avantage of Wade's genius and generosity. While many savvy investors are using these strategies, few are willing to share. Perhaps they are afraid that if you learn it, that will ruin the opportunity for them. Says a lot about them doesn't it?Welcome back Wade. 'm looking forward to your seminars when they hit my area.
80% 2 day return - Thanks Wade!.......2004-03-03
I made a 80% return over a 2 day period by buying options on Multimedia on a post stock split run.
I have also made H-U-G-E- returns following Wade's advice on earnings and news announcements as per this book. The advice works---if you use it.
Great book...Great author.

I hope the library doesn't lose this book.......2000-01-12
This is my daughter's FAVORITE book. We have taken it out of the library on 4 different occasions over the second and third years of her life. I would love to have it in print again, and there is no need to update the pictures, they are very attractive to young child. Even weeks after we have read it and then come to a stop light, she still says "red light they they cannot go, green light they can". Find this book and give it to a young person you love.

Book Description
Roll into one little boy's make-believe traffic world, filled with flashing lights, zooming cars, whirring helicopters, and racing fire engines. He's turned records into rotaries, shoe boxes and books into highway ramps, crayons into lane markers, and dandelions into trees. It's a world where imagination rules and creativity abounds.
With its bouncy rhyming text and bright illustrations, this book is perfect for every preschooler who loves planes, trains, and automobiles. It's a bold introduction to how vehicles stop . . . and go!
Customer Reviews:
Two year old loves this!.......2006-11-03
My two year old son absolutely adores this book! We first checked it out at the library and knew that it was one we'd have to buy after he started quoting it ("Uptown, downtown people know...Red light stop, green light go!"). It is a very fun book for parents to read (I never get tired of it, thank goodness) and is one of my son's all time favorite books. The pictures are bright and clever and we have fun seeing how the little boy in the book sets up his play area. I honestly can't say enough about how much we love this book in our house.
stop and go.......2005-09-13
The little boy in this book is really into transportation. He sets up his on little traffic world with cars, trucks and planes. He makes the scenes from household objects such as books, shoe boxes and lots more. He uses his imagination to set up a busy town in his own home.
The little boy in the book was full of ideas. I liked seeing what he would come up with to play with next!
I would recommend this to kids ages 2-5. This age group seems love books about all things that GO!

This is a sweet book about a girl going to work with her librarian mother for the day. A real delight.
Sweet and comforting.......2004-06-01
This story is told from tpoit of view of a little girl going to work with her mama one day. Her grandma has the flu, so she rides the subway for the very first time to the city where her mama has the best job of all, working at the library. She meeat lots of new friends and helps her mom out at story hour. This book is in our "book box where we keep our very favorites.
A wonderfully entertaining book to read with your child.......2000-05-03
This is an excellent book to read aloud with your pre-school or kindergarden age child. I found it as entertaining as my three year old daughter did, and it triggered my own nostalgia for living and working in New York City. The book is about a little girl who goes to work for the day with her mother, a children's librarian, in what appears to be New York City. It contains many elements that children are curious about - what do their parents do all day at work? could they help with their parent's work? It also has a "story within a story" - the little girl helps her mother read "The Three Little Pigs" out loud. The book includes a diverse range of characters and the illustrations are amusing.

Book Description
During the winter of 1864–65, the end of the Civil War neared as Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant maintained pressure against the dying Confederacy. Major General William T. Sherman ripped through Georgia and presented Savannah to President Abraham Lincoln as a Christmas gift.
Grant continued the long siege at Petersburg, pinning down General Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia. He held Lee in place while his armies demolished the Confederacy elsewhere.
Grant knew that the Confederacy could not long survive. He must have seen it in the faces of the Confederate peace commissioners who appeared at City Point at the end of January, although their meeting with Lincoln at Hampton Roads was unproductive. Grant prepared to strike the final blow.

The Real U.S. Grant.......2005-05-25
The twenty-six (and counting!) volumes comprising all the known extant writings of Ulysses Grant are indeed a remarkable example of published primary source material. While every volume contains much material that is admittedly of trivial importance to even the most rabid Grant scholar, each book in this series also contains fascinating nuggets of information not found anywhere else. Anyone with even a casual interest in USG is sure to discover something worth reading in every volume. In gathering together not only all of Grant's known correspondence, but relevant peripheral documents, the editors of this series are doing a truly Herculean job and deserve great commendation.
I have only a few quibbles with the series. The first involves something over which the editors had no control. I refer to the fact that, in the first few volumes (particularly Volume One,) Grant's descendants insisted that certain passages in Grant's letters to his fiancee-turned-wife Julia Dent that had been crossed out (either by Julia or other family members) not be published. This idiotic decision is not only extremely frustrating for the reader, but, ironically, damaging to Grant himself. By all accounts, the deleted passages contain nothing that could be considered detrimental to Grant's good name, but by leaving them out, these descendants unwittingly gave the impression that there was something to hide. Hopefully, in an "Appendix" volume at the end of the series, the editors will be sporting enough to include whatever deleted passages can be transcribed, and the series will at last be considered complete.
My other complaints about this series are more minor. While each volume contains copious, and frequently illuminating, footnotes, the editors occasionally fail to provide enough context. That is to say, a brief, undetailed letter of Grant's will frequently be followed by several pages of footnotes providing other letters and documents on the same subject, without giving much information explaining what, exactly, it all meant. The reader who is not already fully informed on the subject being addressed is sometimes left feeling confused about what exactly is being discussed, and what its relevance may have been.
Another drawback is, simply, the price. While these books are certainly handsomely--and obviously expensively--printed and bound, those of us who study history as a hobby rather than as a profession could wish for editions that were more cheaply done, and thus more affordable. Unless you are fortunate enough to have access to a good academic library, these extremely expensive (even when you buy second-hand) volumes are simply out-of-reach for many people. That's a great pity, because in these books is an "insider's view" of Grant that does not fully come across in any regular biography.
A masterful achievement.......2000-07-03
"The Papers of Ulysses S. Grant" is a project begun in 1962 for the purpose of publishing all the known letters written by Ulysses S. Grant. Volume one was published in 1967 and there are now twenty-four volumes in the series. People who follow Grant's career are aware of the inestimable value of this project. The Papers contain all known correspondence written by Grant and letters received by him. The editing of the series is unparalleled and the volumes represent primary source material at its apex.
Those who believe Grant was a "drunkard" or a "butcher" should read his own words, which show Grant's humor, pathos and unique personality. Masterfully edited by John Y. Simon, these volumes are a "must have" for anyone with an interest in U.S. Grant as a general, a politician and as a man

Humorous Baby Care Book.......2006-10-26
The author who wrote this book did a very good job on keeping it entertaining all through-out. I read some other baby care books that it was literally hard to stay awake for, but this one kept me turning the pages. Answers most questions new mothers would have. It even has convenient shopping lists at the end of the book so you know what to get and what not to waste your money on. She even included a diary of a new mother's first 30 days with her little newborn at the end of the book so that you can get a glimpse of what your new motherhood will be like.
A very useful book for some.......2005-04-12
I can't see quite why so many people gave this such terrible reviews. It is a small book written about the first six weeks of having a newborn at home. The author bottle-fed and circumcised her baby boy so if you have made those choices you might feel more comfortable with her book (she still gives information about breastfeeding, which I found to be accurate and I was grateful for) than others. It isn't really meant to be comprehensive, just short chapters about what you really need to have ready when the baby comes home, and a diary of what it is like for the first six weeks. I found it tremendously useful in trimming down the loads of information in other books into something I could wrap my head around. I had zero experience with babies before I had my daughter, and this book was very straightforward and helpful. Because of its small size and basic information, I was even able to get my husband to read it (he thought he'd just figure it out as he went along before he read the book). Quibbles about pet euthanasia (I wouldn't have put my pets down) have nothing to do with the information she presents. I would and have recommended this book for people with little or no experience with babies. If you are familiar with newborn care and lots of people around you ready to give you advice about newborns, this book might not be necessary or seem too basic.
Killing your dog.......2003-10-19
In the chapter on Pets, Zahn lists "euthanizing your companion" as an option if "Fido or Kitty will not take kindly- ever- to your baby." (p103)
This struck me as rather compassionless, especially for a book about parenting. She could have mentioned the possibility that some pet owners may have to find new homes for their companions, and left it at that.

Hated this book ..........2002-01-04
If you've read anything else, don't get this book. The information in here is SO general that it could be applied to just about anything. The book lists quick explanations of what will happen, but no information on how to respond to what you'll experience. Additionally, there were frightening statements in this book letting me know the author was no expert on the subject of baby rearing. I was exasperated to read her thought that babies should usually be placed in the backseat of the car. I think that everyone knows that is the ONLY place to put a baby in the car. Though, I'm afraid unknowledgeable people will read this book and think it's ok to do such things as put a baby in the front seat of the car.
If you've read ANYTHING else, you don't need this book. In fact, if you haven't read anything else, you still don't need this book. Don't waste your time or money.
Book Description
This is Whitney Balliett's long-awaited "big book." In it are all the jazz profiles he has written for The New Yorker during the past 24 years. These include his famous early portraits of Pee Wee Russell, Red Allen, Earl Hines, and Mary Lou Williams, done when these giants were in full
flower; his recent reconstructions of the lives of such legends as Art Tatum, Coleman Hawkins, Jack Teagarden, Zoot Sims, and Dave Tough; His quick but indelible glimpses into the daily (or nocturnal) lives of Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus; and his vivid pictures of such on-the-scene masters as
Red Norvo, Ornette Coleman, Buddy Rich, Elvin Jones, Art Farmer, Michael Moore, and Tommy Flanagan. Also included are such lesser known but invaluable players as Art Hodes, Jabbo Smith, Joe Wilder, Warne Marsh, Gene Bertoncini, Joe Bushkin, and Marie Marcus.
All these profiles make the reader feel, as one observer has pointed out, that he is "sitting with Balliett and his subject and listening in." The book can be taken as a kind of history of jazz, as well as a biographical encylopedia of many of its most important performers. It can also be
regarded as a model of American prose. Robert Dawidoff said of Whitney Balliett"s most recent book, Jelly Roll, Jabbo and Fats, that "few people write as well about anything as Balliett writes about jazz." And the late Philip Larkin wrote in 1982 of the "transcendence of Balliett's prose."
