This is an excellent reference guide for anybody involved with condominium association law. It is extremely well written and contains a detailed and easy to understand overview of every area of the condominium act. It also includes excellent sample forms for handy use by officers of the condominium association. I cannot say enough good things about this book.

Don't Go to Ireland Without This Book!.......2004-07-21

This a unique and most helpful book for the traveller to Ireland who is interested in coming home with more than the usual Aran sweater or piece of Waterford. Ireland is teeming with wonderful crafters making pottery, jewelry, linens, lace, leather goods, silver, and more - in addition to the familiar woolens and crystal. The authors show you how to find the small family workshops that are not on the tourist maps, as well as the major craft centers and shops. Some crafters will even give you a discount if you show them the book, making it a real bargain! Web site addresses are included for armchair shoppers, and there is a comprehensive list of Irish shops in the US (though no URLs for these). The authors' love of Ireland and its handicrafts comes through on every page. More photos would have been helpful, but this is really a one-of-a-kind book for the visitor to Ireland.

Classic, Biography of a great man and stock trader.......2007-08-22

This biography is a great read for anyone interested in this great man who counseled presidents and was associated with Winston Churchill. It is interesting in showing how far ahead of his time Mr. Baruch was in not only stock speculating but also discrimination and economics. He was a millionaire in his early thirties after a few good runs in the stock market and devoted the remainder of his life serving the public and helping the U.S. when WWI and WWII. If you are reading it for only his advice on stocks just read chapter XIX My investment philosophy. It is one of the greatest chapters you will find anywhere on successful stock speculation. He will explain to you that economic conditions do not drive prices, peoples perceptions do. Cut your losses fast. Sell your worst performers keep your best. Know what you are investing in. You can only truly learn the rules of stock trading by experiencing the losses personally. Here is a summary of his 10 rules summarized:

1. Only speculate if you can do it full time.
2. Ignore inside information and tips.
3. Have a complete understanding of a companies fundamentals before you buy the stock.
4. Don't try to buy bottoms or sell tops.
5. Cut your losses quickly.
6. Focus on and buy only a few stocks.
7. Review and update your investments periodically for changes.
8. Study your tax position to know when to sell at greatest advantage.
9. Never invest all your funds. Keep a reserve.
10. Stick to the field you know best in investments.

Chapter 19 is a must read for all serious stock traders.

A fantastic writer, a brilliant business leader and judicious statesman. Bernard Baruch's explanation of the background and definition of the term speculator in chapter IX, is one of the finest pieces of business mentorship and insight available in print. He believes it is an ability of priceless value in human affairs, especially the need to act in time. Practical wisdom in any age.

Amazing Read!.......2006-03-06

This book is the best autobiography that I have ever read. Baruch, the Wall Street financier and advisor to Presidents Wilson through Truman, lived an amazing life. Unlike many autobiographies, which are written with an eye to aggrandizement, this one accurately portrays Baruch as a decent humanitarian that did not let his success and power go to his head. There are no intimations here (or elsewhere) that Baruch was dishonest or untrustworthy, and he served in many public service capacities without pay. Baruch writes about his friendships with guys like John "Bet a Million" Gates and "Diamond" Jim Brady. As an investor, I was impressed about how Baruch was able to write about his early failures in the market and was steeled by the fact that he made so many mistakes in his youth but was undeterred on the path to wealth. This book was so good I read it in one day.

A capturing read.......2006-03-04

This is a brilliant book, full of exciting details of a time in Wall Street that will never be lived again.
Baruch writes about his childhood in South Carolina as well as his first accounts of New York. This is where he makes all his first big breaks, mistakes and important acqaintances.
Baruch offers much thought and philosophy on some of the major achievements in his life, including working with the Guggenheims & other great figures, and presents wisdom on economics, politics and personal relationships.
Highly reccommended to those interested in stock market history, global economics or commodities.

The most important book about Wall Street.......2005-11-26

If you want to know about the most interesting years in Wall Street, this is the book. It's difficult to understand but at the end you have a very big picture and knowledge about financial markets. For me Baruch writes everything you need to be a good investor. It's more useful than technical books about markets or a degree in economics.

Interesting from Nancy Reagans' point of view.......2007-05-27

I agree that in the beginning of the book, it did start out very defensive,and Nancy truly believes people have the wrong idea about her.
However,as the book progresses, I do feel I am hearing quite a bit from
"the Heart" as she tells about Ronald Reagan being shot, her experiences with the Fords,the Carters, the Bushes. There are some very straight forward remarks about many historical figures, and that is what a reader would expect from the writer. There are some very interesting "tidbits" of information that you may only read in this book about other historical figures. She talks candidly about her children, and in many areas, as she explains her feelings, I certainly understand her point of view. She comes across as a very kind person, and has been lucky enough to have a wonderful full life love affair with her husband thru any adversity as well as the good times. I think alot of people don't understand what she and the President had , including her own children. The feelings between them, and perhaps Maureen Reagan and Ron
Reagan understood the best, may be why some people just can't "get it". They have and had a blessed life. Very good read. We should all have such devotion to our spouses. Wonderful.

This Lady's A Class Act!.......2004-11-05

It's been awhile since I read this book, but being that I am an admirer of Nancy Reagan's, I didn't mind reading it again.

The main thing that strikes you throughout this book is her strength, sensitivity, and love for her husband. She brought a level of dignity and class to the White House and as subsequent events have proven, she maintained it beautifully long after she was out of the limelight. The way she cared for her husband throughout his long illness showed a devotion that we aren't used to seeing in marriages, especially very public ones.

Even though this book is a few years old, you will learn much about the wonderful lady. If you are a fan of hers or just curious, there is much in this book that is enlightening and entertaining.

Insightful view of presidency from first lady's perspective.......1999-12-25

Heard the taped version of my turn: the memoirs of Nancy Reagan . . . I never followed her career too closely, when she was the first lady, though I do recall she was always involved in a lot of controversy . . . now I can see why . . . it was interesting to read her version of why she consulted an astrologer, about her feud with Ronald Reagan, etc. . . . what comes though loud and clear: her passionate love for the president . . . I particularly liked the fact that she did the actual narration . . . in addition, I admire her ability to admit her mistakes.

Mrs Reagan makes no apology for this personal partisan expose of her life.This is as the title states HER turn to tell Nancy's side of the story which she does with candour,regret,humour a slight bitterness and a little sadness.Her love and devotion to her husband and their marriage stands out above everything including a candid admission that between the two of them they could have been better parents.Despite their closeness Nancy adamantly refutes any suggestion she was a power behind the throne or weilded great influence on her husband "otherwise Don Regan would have been dismissed much earlier than he was".Neither does she make apology for giving Ronnie unwelcome opinions about policy and personalities in the administration.Anyone sleeping with the leader of the free world is going to put in their sixpence worth and no mistake.But does that mean he takes the advice? Probably not.

She also makes no bones about people she disagreed with and her meetings with Raisa Gorbachev bear testimont to an ability to carry on regardless.You go girl! What other similar situations did she leave out I wonder.Her opinions of Roslyn Carter were interesting and uncatty,considering the circumstances both women deserve a medal for their restraint. I read this book by chance soon after the joint briefly worded statement from Mr & Mrs Reagan about the Presidents illness was announced to the world, "...for me personally it is the start of a long goodbye..." so tried not to let this affect my views. Nancy Reagan admits to a faults on her part and actions she regretted but I was pleasantly surprised about this revealing biography of a public person who had been vilified in the press for doing what she did best,trying to protect the interests of the dearest person in her life. Would that most of us could say the same.

Nancy Reagan's book lacked sincerity, and the tone was perceived to be highly defensive of the charges against her. The book was critical of certain individuals whom Mrs. Reagan fought with. I recommend that readers read what Mrs. Reagan had to say, and the other books by Patti Davis and others from the Reagan administration in order to make a fair evaluation of the contents of the book.

I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down! For someone from a similar family and from a similar region - it is exceptional in its details. From the "private" fathers to the nuns who punished without any remorse - a French Catholic can associate with each chapter. The funny antics of this young boy made for many a chuckle.
