Board members I know tend to want information they can read and absorb quickly. This book is perfect for those on the go who need to understand their responsibilities but will not take the time to read a treatise. It explains what you need to know to be successful board member and gives practical suggestions for any organization. I would suggest it be a staple for any board member especially those new to the nonprofit board area or for those wanted a quick review.

I was very disappointed for having PAID for this...it is obviously a vehicle for Zimmerman Lehman to market their services. Additionally, the information given in the solicitation material is extremely superficial. I found much more valuable information about nonprofit board governance, duties and responsibilities in books such as Curtis P McLaughlin, The Management of Non-Profit Organizations, HD62.6.M39 or James P. Gelatt Orys, Managing Non-Profit Organizations in the 21st Century, HD 62.6.G44 1992.

An excellent overview of the responsibilities of Board of Director members. I would have liked more detailed examples on some topics, but that might have diminished its value as a brief and well-organized overview. Each member of a new board should have a copy.

This booklet covers pertinent information for all new board members. It is brief but offers insite into the information one should be thinking about for directing a board or participating in a board. It helps to stimulate further questions and study.

Great Orientation for Nonprofit Boards.......2000-04-27

My nonprofit used this clearly-written book to guide their search for new board members, and liked it so much that they wanted to provide a copy to every incoming board member. There are helpful sections in many areas, such as board member responsibilities and assessing board needs. Not only is there helpful information on all topics a board should know, but there are also worksheets to guide various board activities. I felt this book is helpful both for first-time board members, who need an introduction to their role, and for long-time board members who appreciate the authors' suggestions for how to solve many common problems facing nonprofit boards. Every nonprofit should own at least one copy -- it's worth the investment.

A beautiful written book about one of the best actors ever. Quentin Falk nails it on the head clean. With more information and stories about the actor, not to mention another section of beautiful pictures, this book tops the edition before it easily. Any fan of Sir Hopkins is very likely to love this book too. I highly recommend it to my fellow Tony fans!

Boring biography? NOT.......2001-11-03

I've always found biographies to be a bit on the dry/boring side, this one, however, is not. There was not a boring page in this book. I enjoyed it immensely and could barely bring myself to put it down. This biography covers Mr. Hopkins life from birth through his success in Silence of the Lambs. It gives you an in depth look at his youth/childhood/formative years, as well as following his every career move. It was definitely a worth while read.

An amazing depiction of Hopkins, I got what I wanted out of it! Unlike most biographies, this one was a keeper. It was a page-turner, especially if you are interested in Hopkins. I just wish it was more up to date!

Light-weight biography of an acting heavyweight.......2000-07-04

I read the original biography by Quentin Falk, a showbiz hack and mediocre writer, several years ago and remember it only as a very superficial treatment of a very complex man. This new update contains too much spin control by Hopkins' ex-wife and not enough insight into the man himself (or seemingly input from him) to make it worthwhile. Hopkins is a great actor and a very intriguing man, he deserves a more in-depth analysis of both his work and his persona than Falk can provide.

This is probably one of the most well-written books that I have seen in a long time. The pictures are amazing and the story is wonderful. I have always been a fan of Anthony, and this book is enough to convince anyone. Highly recommended.

This book is simply amazing, a real page turner. You can't stop reading it until the last page and then you're left gagging for more. Anyone who wants to know anything at all about Anthony Hopkins should read this NOW! It's given me real inspiration, and has made me realise I can do anything I want to if I try hard enough. I loved Anthony Hopkins before, but now I love him even more.He's amazing!

Anthony Hopkins, being, in my opinion, one of the greatest actors, deserves more in a biography than this. The book is basic and tells you information, but in trying to make it unique, the author bores you, confused you, and makes you less interested in reading it.

In this book the author gives a very detailed account of the life and career of actor Anthony Hopkins. It is interesting to note that Mr. Hopkins only agreed to contribute to this book on the condition that the author did not interview his first wife who he left along with his baby. In reading this book one can only come to the conclusion that Mr. Hopkins is to be greatly admired as an actor but he leaves a lot to be desired as a husband and father.I would also like to say "Hi" to Tom who works at the Video Store and is always very patient with me in my hunt for little known movies. If you are reading this Tom I hope you invested some of your hard earned cash on a good bottle of 12 year old Chivas Regal Scotch which goes very well with a couple of chunks of ice. Leave Jim Beam for the peasants to drink!!!
