Even if you're already at $100k+, this is a great book for general career advice, and even financial planning. Liked it so much I bought two for friends. This book is a genuinely fun read. I had trouble putting it down. Self-help books aren't supposed to page-turners, but this one is.

The point of the book is to outline the behaviors and thoughts that are common to all of the high-earning women who the author interviewed... But what makes it a fun read are all of the inspiring stories of high-earning women with diverse backgrounds and occupations. They are generally women who start off giving up their lives (and/or incomes) either for their loved ones, or for their charities, or for their boss, and then making various breakthroughs that made them start taking care of themselves first and foremost, while still caring for their friends and family as much as (if not more than) before, and of course making more money too. Their stories will leave you feeling optimistic about your own professional future, regardless of your field and rank. There are also stories about women who were always proud, positive-thinking, successful people, whose stories are equally as inspiring.

The "secrets" that the author outlines are so obviously essential to success, but so nebulous and elusive in our minds when we set personal goals, that it's invaluable that the author has pinpointed them, named them, described them, and turned them into strategies for success. And by showing the readers specific examples of how these behaviors were used in real people's lives, she gives the reader a concrete example to follow, to use as a starting point for the reader's own self-improvement.

(And a sidenote: This book is not just for women. The strategies the author outlines can be applied to anyone's life, male or female, and the stories are probably just as inspiring for a man as for a woman.)

This is an academic paper written by a current practitioner. Lukac works with Jack Schwager of Wizard fame at Wizard Trading. It is a good paper that like the title says goes over 12 trading systems. He does a few MA crossovers, two of Wilders systems Parabolic and Directional Movement, some Channel Breakouts and variations, and a few other systems. At the time (1984 I think)it was probably fairly groundbreaking. Now it is a useful book but nothing that most heavy Tradestation users don't already know.

This book is basically 13 interviews with some so called electronic traders boasting their success, and only success, with no desription of how they trade, what system or strategy they use, their competitive edge over other traders (they do mention online traders frequently), when to enter or leave a trade, their handling of loss, and simply nothing of what the title says: "understanding what it takes to make the jump to electronic trading". They are sheer momentum traders (or emotional traders to be exact) who, judged from what they said, resemble those gamblers on the baccarat table placing their bets on the winning streak of the others.

As Jonathan R. Aspatore is quick to point out, the traders referred to in the title of his book are not the millions of people trading stocks online. Instead, they are a more sophisticated bunch with arsenals of DSL lines and Nasdaq Level 2 screens. Does that mean they are more successful than their counterparts on the World Wide Web? Aspatore says they are. He offers more than a dozen question-and-answer sessions with upbeat electronic traders who are jazzed by their own success. Not answered is this: If electronic traders have a competitive advantage over online traders due to better technology and information, what kind of an advantage do Wall Street trading houses have over individual electronic traders? We recommend this book to prospective day traders as a source for plenty of useful trading insights, but with this advice: Seek a cautionary note somewhere else.

This book is a joke. From Omar Amanat to the entire list of clowns that day trade in this book, it is awful. Don't most of these guys work in the same office? So now what? Every day trading firm is going to get all their traders together and make an absolutely USELESS book? This book has no value to it whatsoever -- not even some trite 'ride your winners' phrases with some personal explanations. I would much rather recommend Strategies for the Online Day Trader by Gonzalez and Rhee which is an incredibly helpful book with REAL strategies. The only people making the JUMP here are the bozos that are quoted -- and they are jumping YOU for your money! Don't buy it, don't read it and don't waste your time on this one. I rate it -10 out of 5 stars. YECH!
