Customer Reviews:
Chock full of stuff but painful to read and hard to use........2005-02-10
This book has lots of financial worksheets and checklists, but they're not written in a helpful manner or format. Plus, you end up entering much of the same info into many checklists over and over again. Worse, the text is really painful to read. It's not broken down into bite-size pieces or written in plain-English. And I have to agree with Mr. Bingham that it is hard to use the CD-ROM because you have to click into each folder to see what's there and then click into BOTH the PDF forms and text forms folders, because sometimes the forms in the two folders are just duplicates of each other while other times a form only exists in one folder or the other. In short, the book is heavy on forms and worksheets whose usefulness is questionable, and light on text.
Great Book for those wanting to start a LLC by themselves!.......2002-06-28
I find this book to be one of the best on the subject of LLC's. I myself invest in real estate and run everything through my LLC's. This book has pretty much all you need for running your company, every single form is incredibly useful. I personally do not use the Residential/Commerical lease forms because I use my own and each state and cities within the state have different rental regulations and laws. I strongly disagree with Mr. Bingham's review about the CD-Rom because in the book on pages 9-12 contain a list of the forms found on the CD-Rom and which form lable goes with which topic. An example of this is:
"Chapter 2: Business Start-Up Checklist"
Form 1: Business Start-Up Checklist (text form)"
The forms on the CD-Rom are in text and pdf format. I wonder if Mr. Bingham even opened the book because this is discussed at the beginning of the book with the "List of Forms-on-CD" section and throughout the rest of the book. I think this is a must have for those either considering forming a LLC for your business or running an existing one. This book is saving me a lot of time and effort and will do the same for you!
Book Review.......2002-01-23
This book is a fairly general overview of running a company. It doesn't really delve into anything too difficult and a lot of its bulk (number of pages) is made up by repeating the same material (as forms) with minor variations. Clarity could be greatly improved if a single iteration of the form was given, and the areas that were subject to variations were so indicated. The way it's done you have to compare 4-8 variations to see what changes between them. Another serious failing is the lack of an index for the forms on the CD. They are simply labeled Doc1, Doc2, etc. You have to open each one to find out what they are. The book does not refer to them by the names on the CD, and there is no index in either the book or on the CD. This is a mediocre book, not bad, not great.

Book Description
This Partnership Kit is for multiple owners.....It contains easy-to-use legal documents to form a general partnership, sales tax, quarterly and annual tax requirements. This Kit also includes required forms and a legal agreement if you want to hire independent contractors. I had to sift through hundreds of pages of information to get through all the government red tape when I started my business. I wasted so much time. As a consequence, I developed this series of Business Start-Up Kits in a cooperative project with local California Chambers of Commerce and government agencies. These Kits have helped over 75,000 start-ups get going.

Book Description
This provocative book investigates the role of accounting in the sudden collapse of companies which were apparently reaping healthy profits. Why has accounting failed to reveal companies’ true financial position or warn of impending collapse? Examining a number of well-known cases from the last three decades, the authors argue that there are serious problems inherent in the system of reporting financial information. In a lively and highly readable book, the authors balance broad interpretation and recommendations for reform with fine detail of particular cases.

A complete guide to help ministers prepare tax returns and plan their financial future.
Customer Reviews:
Must Have!.......2003-01-30
This book is simply a "must have" for anyone involved in any way in the finances of a church. I have been in church finance for over 10 years and I am frequently chagrined to find out how many misconceptions and how much bad information is out there about church accounting and ministers' tax treatment. This book is a clear and concise guide to the specific issues related to accounting and record keeping that are unique for ministers.
Though written by an accountant, it is easy to read for non-accountants while remaining useful for accounting professionals.
I cannot recommend this book, or it's companion, Zondervan 2003 Minister's Tax & Financial Guide, highly enough. I pre-order the new editions every year.

Honor's Voice: The Transformation of Abraham Lincoln
ASIN: 0803294301 |
Book Description
"I found it an inspiring thing to trace the roads these seven successive generations of Lincoln pioneers traveled, to look upon the remains of their homes, reconstruct from documents and legends their activities, judge what manner of men and women they were, the place they held among their fellows. In these wanderings the whole history of the United States seemed to unroll before me. In this Lincoln migration we have the family history of millions of our contemporaries."—Ida M. Tarbell, in her preface.
Young Samuel Lincoln, who had been apprenticed as a weaver in England, arrived in the Puritan colony of Boston Bay in 1637. Ida M. Tarbell traces the generations from Samuel to Abraham Lincoln, offering rich details of character and circumstance and showing that the president’s ancestors were not precisely as his detractors painted them. She takes Abraham Lincoln from the cabin of his birth to the White House, where he is introduced to a nation in crisis.
Customer Reviews:
Abraham Lincoln and His Ancestors.......2001-02-14
This is one of the best books that I have read on the Lincoln family history. The accurate accounts of President Lincoln's family has enlightened me greatly in that his family was not a bunch of poor people, but was mostly made up of well to do land owners, and very successful pioneers; people that helped to make this country great.
Ida Tarbell brings to the reader a vivid description of a family who worked hard, prayed hard, struggled, and succeeded in the great drama of the making of a nation. I highly reccomend this book.

Excellent book!!.......2000-12-03
I went through the same type of brain surgery as did Amy went though so I was definitely interested in hearing her story about life with epilepsy and the brain surgery.
It was an excellent book!!!
A Journey out of Epilepsy.......2000-09-05
Amy Crane's moving account of her lifelong battle with epilepsy and its successful cure by 1994 brain surgery is a tremendously moving account. One of the most fascinating aspects of it is the staggering amount of autobiographical detail she was able to recall from her childhood and young adulthood ... detail which greatly augments and enriches the book. An inspirational book for anyone who has to deal with a medical crisis, or knows anyone who does.
A wealth of medical, emotional, social aspects of epilepsy........2000-09-05
Rejoice In The Light: A Woman's Journey Out Of The Mystery Of Epilepsy is Amy E. Crane's candid and compelling autobiography of her experiences living with a condition of epilepsy from children, through her young adult years, and eventual brain surgery. Highly recommended for personal and community library collections, Rejoice In The Light also offers the reader a wealth of "reader friendly" and detailed information on important medical, emotional, and social aspects of epilepsy, including the side effects of seizure medications, and the numerous ways to help a friend, loved one, colleague with an epileptic condition.
Alarmingly honest, insightful look into the maze of Epilepsy.......2000-08-23
Ms. Crane shares so vividly all aspects of her journey out of epilepsy; physical, emotional and spiritual. This book delves into the very soul of an epileptic in an effort to help the rest of us understand the disease. It's intimate nature will make you feel the author's fear, pain, and joy. Also, this book could be an invaluable resource for those living with epilepsy with it's extensive list of treatment centers and many significant insights from the author. Truly a story that champions the strength of the human spirit and the grace of God!
