Seals approach to success........2004-02-03

When I first put this tape in I thought to myself what the heck is this guy going on about. But I kept on going. It will grow on you. Richard's navy seal strategy to success is definitely one of the original motivational tapes out there. With a warriors attitude and what the author describes as "Testical Fortitude" you know your in for a ride. The author takes real navy missions and turns them into business strategies. With a philosophy of breaking rules only hurts the person who made the rules Richard just puts a foot in the face of whoever stands in the way. Dont be a follower. Set the standard not live up to it. Its a very inspiring look at a different approach to success. Exciting and motivating.

Great book. I like Dickie's straight forward, everything goes approach. Very practical and useful advice you can put to use right away no matter what your career is.

Not as good as Leadership Secrets.......2002-03-21

Another good motivational book from the Rogue, but I have seen much of the same ideas in a lot of his other books. I would still recommend it to anyone intrested in looking for a good motivational book.

Straight talk from a straight shooter.......2000-07-03

I have read several business success books but none of the others even came close to this one. Marcinko cuts through all the politics and political correctness and delivers an excellent set of principles applicable to any industry. His war stories are more than just entertaining, they really drive home the points that he is making about the importance of planning, training, etc. This is must reading for everyone who is a warrior at heart regardless of their field of endeavor.

Don't Make Excuses, be a Leader!.......2000-06-30

This book is entertaining and well written. The stories used to illustrate the points made are usually an adventure in themselves. Richard Marcinko practices what he preaches and this book will tell you how to do the same. This is an easy to read guide to being successful and the best book of its' kind I have ever read. This gives the reader the no excuses, no BS way to succeed. Buy this book!

I use the California Cookbook at least once a month, mostly for recipes that are a little too West Coast-centric for Joy and the other oldies, but too old-fashioned or boring for Epicurious. Browsing through this collection of 650+ recipes from the paper's archives, it doesn't take long to stumble across dishes from one-time celebrities -- Mahalia Jackson, Lawrence Welk, Polly Bergen -- and popular restaurants of yore. (Remember The Velvet Turtle? The Hungry Tiger?) Each recipe has a little piece of marginalia that introduces its source, adding a bit of backstory and flair

My Favorite Recipes.......2005-10-13

A friend gave me this cookbook and it quickly became the source of some family favorites. I lost all of my cookbooks in a house fire in 2002 and this was the one cookbook I missed the most. My family LOVED the Lasagna pg.167 and the Chicken Enchiladas pg.215 and no one was happy with any other recipe I tried. I've already received the replacement I found on Amazon.com and I'm thrilled. For only 85 cents plus shipping my family and I are celebrating!

Favorite cookbook.......2004-03-01

I like many others got this cookbook as a freebe for a subscription. I have used it constantly since 1983, so much so the pages have turned yellow & are starting to get loose in the book. It is probably the best cookbook I have ever had & would love to buy one for my daughter, now that she is out on her own. I no longer live in So Calif, but find each recipe interesting with the little blurps they give on the background of each recipe.

I have had a copy of this book since 1983 when I was living in California as a Nanny. 21 yrs later, it has been moved from country to country and is now a UK resident! It is still regularly used, but is falling apart! I desperately need a new copy! Please, please reprint!

A Gift From brother, Joe.......2001-12-28

I really love this book. I owned it and it wasa gift from my brother, Joe, many years ago. I've used the recipes many times! The sugar cookie recipe is the best ever and the pumpkin bread recipe is also. This year, 2001, I just cannot find it, I misplaced it when we redid our living room. I am so mad and sad, but happy I found it here at amazon. I made the sugar cookies anyway, from another cookbook, but they were just not the same.

Treasured volume in my expansive collection.......1998-06-28

I am heartsick that this volume is out of print. We have a lab puppy who insists on sampling my cookbooks--not the products, but the books themselves! Recent ones I have replaced, but this is one of my favorites and unavailable. I live in L.A. and have been to many restaurants mentioned. These recipes are accurate, easy to follow, and just delicious.

i was extremely pleased with this book. it has taken a while for all of the material to be understood, but overall, it is the best book i have found to explain options trading and strategy. i am looking for the other books fullman wrote in his series. they are not available, as far as i can tell on amazon.

Out dated by other newer books.......2000-01-13

I bought the top 5 options books from Amazon and returned 3 of the 5. I kept Fontanills and McMillan as the combination of the two books enabled me to grasp all I needed to know.

This books falls short for telling the practical application of how to get started. Wasted too much time on unecessary tuition.

If you are going to buy one book on options this is not it:

1.If you are a beginner buy Michael C. Thomsett. 2.If you want a practical how to get started and make money in options guide then buy Fontanills 3.If you want all the math and theory buy McMillan's Strategic.

Pass on this book.

With a dizzying array to choose from, traders new to options are often mystified when it comes to picking a fundamental primer. Options: A Personal Seminar is easily the best of the NYIF seminar series and a solid source of information. With detailed descriptions of option strategies and concepts from the simple to the complex, it is highly understandable yet comprehensive. This book is a great place to start an options education.

Great book for Frequent Options Traders.......1998-07-13

I've purchased several books on trading options and this one is by far the superior book. It offers practical guidelines for choosing a strategy and outlines spreadsheet calculations you can set up to help you evaluate a trade. It also discusses many more topics than other books I've read, such as repair strategies. If you're going to buy one options book, this is it!

A few simple techniques can increase your trading profits 20% per year or more. Sell puts against long stock positions. Hedge current investments to protect accumulated profits. Never worry about "bear markets" --- make money going up or down. This book is written in textbook fashion and should be read accordingly. No nonsense or get rich quick schemes here

Text Book of "Futures".......2005-01-07

A concise guide to what futures are and an introduction to the mechanism of futures trading. Its definition is more official than the ones you probably find in websites. It is outdated by the automation of a lot of the processes mentioned in the book.
This book could be a great teaching tool for high school students who are interested in knowing what futures are. The outdated parts would not change the underlying principles of futures trading thus the value of the book is still there.
If it is ten years ago, I would give this book at least 4 stars as it delivers clearly what futures are.

This is a great book. Breaks things down to simple terms. You will need additional books if you wish to do more than learn the basics.

This book shows its age. Some of the terms and processes are not used any more. Technology provides more data (you don't need to look up prices in the newspaper, you have the Internet!).

This book is a great find for those curious, or just starting out.
