This is the best book I've ever purchased from Amazon. Ross Shafer's approach is quite refreshing. I haven't stopped laughing since buying this book.

America's Love Doctor on "Nobody Moved Your Cheese".......2003-09-10

After reading Ron Shafer's "Nobody Moved Your Cheese" I thought he would be a great guest on my radio show. He was! Ron's wit and charm shine through in this book! His insights are crisp and provide motivation without the fluff we are all unwillingly subjected to.

Every once in a while someone not only says what your thinking.. they have the inspiration and talent to put it in a book. In Ross Schafer's new book "Nobody Moved Your Cheese" the author not only points out the flaws in today's quick fix media soothsayers but goes one better. Every one of the well written 32 chapters, closes with a brilliant "It's All About You" fix. In this short paragraph, Shafer backs up his accusations with a solution and a resolve to the very complaint he illustrates. Anyone can slam... but clarifying and then offering a solution, puts this book on a shelf all it's own. It also shows the skill of the writer and the intelligence of the work. At 200 pages you wish Shafer could have found more paper and knocked out a Harry Potter version. It was all over too soon. Do I smell "sequel?" On a personal note, I've known Ross for many years. Not only did I not know he was such a talented writer, I quite frankly didn't know he could read. I kid....This is funny well written, informative tome, written by a funny, talented and well liked artist. If you don't love this book, I will personally call Ross and have him send you your money back. At the very least you can have my free copy.

Turn Down The Radio.......2003-06-23

The other day I saw Cher on television giving self-help advice. I personally never trusted Cher or any Doctor who doesn't use a last name. My advice is to turn down the radio and take 33 minutes to read "Nobody Moved The Cheese." You will never have to listen to those first name doctors or entertainers again.

Good to read before a big kitchen project........2000-01-15

The first time I read this book, I liked her ideas fairly well but wasn't as impressed as I was with _Confessions of an Organized Homemaker_ or _Confessions of an Organized Family_. However, now that we're planning to paint our kitchen and have to babyproof it, I reread this book with new eyes.

I found the discussion of ABCD items to be very helpful; the concept of work centers was also useful, though I'm not sure I'm going to apply it in quite the way she describes -- our kitchen is so small that it doesn't make a great difference. She has also sold me on "accrued benefits" -- make a double batch and freeze half for later. All in all, it was very useful for me, and I definitely enjoy her writing style.

Have read this three times and am buying it now. Originally read when renovating my kitchen, helped me plan logically. It was as if a light went on with the chore center concept and keeping things at the point of first use, not where everything else in that "category" is kept. My kitchen is so easy to work in now, no more extra steps getting things, they're within arms reach!

The overall message of Rich Dad's Guide to Investing is that this is an abundant world, full of opportunity for the sophisticated investor. However, it sometimes takes a while to find this point. Much of the book is told in dialogues between young Kiyosaki and his rich dad, and these conversations can ramble. There are rewards for the careful reader--for example, in the middle of a section on the basic rules of investing, Kiyosaki's rich dad compares investor education to toilet training: difficult at first but eventually automatic. But getting to these inspired metaphors means wading through a lot of repetitive dialogue. It's a bit ironic that someone who advocates investor discipline should show so little as a writer. But by the end of the book, even the rambling starts to make sense. By the hundredth time you read that the rich don't work for money, and that you don't need money to make money, both concepts start to make sense. The rich are different from the rest of us, if for no other reason than U.S. tax and securities laws allow them to invest in ways that keep us from catching up to them. That's why 90 percent of all corporate shares of stock are owned by 10 percent of the people. Kiyosaki believes it's possible for anyone to move up into that 10 percent, but it takes a different view of investing than most people have: it takes a plan to be a successful investor. And a plan is more than simply buying and selling, or collecting "assets" that bring in no cash and are thus more akin to liabilities. The way most people invest, "they might as well be pushing a wheelbarrow in a circle," he writes. A plan is "mechanical, automatic, and boring," a formula for success that has worked historically for most of those who've used it. There is very little useful info in this book for everyday investors. Instead, I would recommend: THE LITTLE BOOK OF COMMON SENSE INVESTING by John Bogle and THE MILLIONAIRE NEXT DOOR by Thomas Stanley.

Robert Kiyosaki has done it once again!!! Being an avid reader of business/ personal development and finance books for years, I always love reading the Rich Dad books. Robert's style is straight forward, friendly, and highly coversational. Anyone interested in understanding the mindset that one needs to create before beginning their personal conquest down the roads to wealth and freedom should read every Rich Dad book they can get their hands on!

Make Kiyosaki Rich and Yourself a Little Poorer by buying this book. It amazes me how people buy the dream of becoming rich, yet make themselves poor. Kiyosaki certainly takes advantage of this by catering to greed and desire.

Case point: you are reading this book because you are poor. People rich in money and knowledge do not buy his junk.

'Alliance Competence' provides a 360 degree perspective on business alliance. It captures both the difficulties & opportunities involved in developing business alliance. It also outlines the resources & skills needed. The values of business alliance are also incorporated into the competitive advantage framework. The book is filled with detail to 'walk the talk', but the content tend to be ocasionally repetitive.

Embracing her daughter's gifts.......2005-06-19

The author tells the story of the journey her family has taken from the day her daughter was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder. She generously shares details about her daughter's condition and her frustrations and fears.

While this book is written for parents, her words also send a very kind and strong message to those who work with children with special needs and their parents and families.

In the end, though, this is a story who lovingly writes about embracing her daughter's gifts and the privilege of being Ashley's mother.
