This book is really nice...I like the cute size of it. The recipes in here, which I've tried are fairly simple, and the more complex ones ask for some more exotic ingredients which I don't really feel comfortable with. But otherwise, the book offers some good advice, and the simple recipes are all ones that anyone would be familiar with. May I especially recommend the Onion Soup...Yum! ^_^

A GOOD START FOR BEGINNERS.......2000-07-09

This is one of two books which I would always recommend for beginners. There is a well prepared questionaire that lets you know if futures trading is for you or not. It helps to bring a lot of basic concepts about the market, choosing a broker, CTA etc. down to a simple easy understandable way.

Even experienced traders would find it quite helpful, especially the section that deals with the overview of several markets. This is really useful material in deciding on which markets to trade and their particular tendencies.

Not terribly well-written........1999-09-05

The book provides some useful information, but is written in such a way that the novice will find impossible to follow. The introductory chapters are particularly atrocious, and plunged right into the middle of things without so much as defining the terms and explaining the basic concepts.

But for someone who already knows the basics of futures trading, this can be a useful summary of the various markets.

I bought this book when I was deciding on whether or not to get started in futures trading. I was not disappointed. Wasendorf & McCafferty clearly walk through the process of trading futures in enough detail to help you understand what its all about but the book is not overly full of jargon or complex snooze producing theory. Might be a bit too simple for very experienced traders but on the whole a great read.

If you are looking to begin trading in the commodity futures market, get this book. It is the best that I've seen on the subject. It is very clear and well written. Take notes as you read it. Start trading on paper and use this as a reference for a few months and you'll be ready

Caution newcomers to options trading:

This book tries to cover the wide field of both futures and stock option trading in under 200 pages. There is no step-by-step explanation of the mechanics of option trading that a newby to option trading will require. If you have the financial resources to even consider options trading, you can afford to spend a few dollars extra and buy the classic "Options as a Strategic Investment" by Lawrence McMillan. There are good reasons why this book sold over 100,000 copies. As a newcomer to options I found its approach far more methodical and understandable than "All about Options from the Inside Out", which will be retired to a remote corner of my library.

I just finished "Trading From the Inside" and can honestly say it's one of the best books I have read since Joe Ross's "Trading Options and Futures"

I have over 30 trading books in my library and trade commodity futures professionally. I love this book!

It smashes the most common myths about trading commodity futures.

I.E. Commercials are right, you can profitably trade using fundamental analysis, markets that gap higher on a bullish report should be bought, etc.

I recommend this book to all traders new AND professionals

This paper develops a Cournot model of rival dealers placing limit orders with a broker, who in turn makes a market by acting as a liaison between dealers. The broker's limit-book lists the various prices and quantities at which dealers are willing to exchange currency vis-a-vis electronic broking. The size and volatility of the inside spread is simulated relative to dealer entry-exit and the price elasticity of linear order arrival functions. Our simulations reveal non-linear price dynamics from dealer participation in market development, with an additional rival narrowing the inside spread by 1.82% while diminishing its volatility.
