The first two -- "The Healing Journey" and "The Healing Journey for Couples", are journaling books written to help people learn how to journal and what to journal about. The others in the series focus on specific life issues.

The book showed the though challenges in a teenagers life and how to deal with competition, people, peer pressure, and more. Pages filled with cartoons, quotes, and pictures. Great for any teen that wants to be sucessful in life.

Disappointing!.......2007-10-06

My mistake,perhaps...Thought I was ordering a "book"...This one is filled with empty lined pages....it is a JOURNAL...(and an ugly one,too!) haha

This is a total rip-off!

I've read 7 Habits of Highly Effective People a number of times and thought this was going to be a kind of support book - things to concentrate on different days or weeks, a bit of how-to - but no. This is a blank journal with a few quotes from 7 Habits (and related books) interspersed. If you have 7 Habits or some other related Covey book, you already know everything that is printed in this journal. Just go to Officeworks or OfficeMax and buy a blank notebook for 79 cents. Job done.

After buying some expensive Franklin Covey software a few years ago that caused catastrophic crashes on my computer (and I understand I'm far from the only one), with no support from Franklin Covey at all, it took until now to try another Covey product. Unfortunately, I got burned again with this lazy, misleading effort.

Save your money. As for you, Stephen Covey, you should be embarrassed.

Diane Phillips lures you into her cookbook with a picture of the perfect pot pie, topped with a lid of golden-brown, flaky crust. Inside this cookbook, though, you'll find that what Phillips offers is not your grandmother's labor-intensive pot pie. Indeed, most of the 75 recipes are suited to the limited time and dietary desires of today's cooks. Her easy-to-assemble fillings emphasize chicken breast, lean meat, and other healthful ingredients, while the toppings can be put together in a snap. About the only old-fashioned thing Phillips keeps in her pot pies is lots of full, intense flavor.

The first recipe, Chicken Bouillabaisse with Rouille Crust, tells it all. The filling consists of boneless thighs simmered with white wine, saffron, tomatoes, and rice. For a crust, you spread toasted slices of French bread with a garlicky red pepper and olive oil purée, set them over the casserole-like filling, and bake until everything is bubbling hot. Reading on, you realize that Phillips sees a pot pie simply as something covered by a layer of something. Ryan's Pie, chicken chunks in thyme-perfumed cream sauce under a puff pastry lid, is as close to classic as she gets. From there, you find such combinations as turkey meatloaf baked under a layer of mashed potatoes enriched with bacon and sour cream, and lean pork, stewed Tuscan-style with red wine and vegetables, served under a polenta crust.

Phillips is so creative in working her idea that you are fascinated even by the delicious-looking results from her most fanciful flights, in which everything from tortillas and risotto to slices of sautéed eggplant, mashed beans, ratatouille, and a blue-cheese custard serve as toppings. Among the least-expected choices are a stir-fry topped with a pancake of pan-crisped noodles, and sautéed fish covered with mango salsa and passed under the broiler. Phillips tells when you can make a dish in steps, and how long each one keeps in the refrigerator and in the freezer. For those concerned about fat, she tells how to substitute leaner choices in place of cheese, cream, and butter. Delicious and practical!.......2006-01-23

I use this book often. You can mix and match the toppings (foccacia, phyllo, potatoes, pastry, rice, etc). Her fillings are delicious, if caloric. My young children especially love her recipes, which are traditional but innovative. For example, her scalloped potato and ham casserole is made with a quiche-like filling and topped with lots of gooey swiss cheese. Who wouldn't prefer that over the standard recipe? The beef stew with sage biscuits is a family favorite which I prepare in the crock pot. Each recipe I've tried has been successful. A great addition to your cookbook collection.

This book gives you more than the basic chicken pot pie, although that recipe is great. I didn't know that there were so many tasty ways to fix a pot pie; I love the variety in this book.

A great book, full of easy-to-make recipes.......2003-03-18

This comfy cookbook is dedicated to that wonderful staple food, potpies! The first chapter is a handy set of instructions on setting up a pantry. After that, the fun really begins! There are four potpie chapters: chicken and turkey, meat (beef, pork and lamb), seafood, and vegetable. Potpies of every description are includes: all-American, Cajun, Mediterranean, SouthWest, and much more. What is nice, is that the recipes for crusts and contents are spelled out, which means that you can mix and match, or whatever.

This is a great book, one that I am glad that we bought. So far, we?ve made Ryan?s Pie (p. 46), Beef Filets with Wild Mushroom and Maytag Blue Cheese Topping (p. 77), and (my personal favorite) Mom?s Beef Stew Topped with Sage Parmesan Biscuits (p.88). This is a great book, full of easy-to-make recipes; I highly recommend it!

The best cookbook I own!.......2001-07-10

This is the by far the best cookbook I own, and I own at least 100 of them. I would give this more than five stars if that were possible. Every recipe I have made has been incredible and is fine to make for my husband and myself or fancy enough for guests. I love this cookbook and can't recommend it enough!

Easy yet Satisfying!!!.......2001-03-17

Diane Phillips has written a masterpiece. I have tried 5 or 6 of the dishes so far...and all have been wonderful. I'm a single working mom who is usually in a time crunch. These pot pies are quick and easy. Diane makes the recipes easy to follow and the ingredients are easy to find. Anyone who can not make these dishes turn out must not spend too much time in the kitchen, and better stick to frozen food! I can't wait to get my hands on Diane's next book.

This book presents supposed statistical analysis of prices hitting, supporting or resisting intraday, depending on the previous day closing price and opening price based on pivot levels.

Some of the percentages present apparently good trading opportunites. However, there are six zones and hence 6 close x 6 open price combinations and the six levels which price the can hit during the day. You can get an idea as to how many permutations (trading setups) there are.

Although this is supposed to be a statistical analysis, with nice percentage numbers, the data would be more attractive if the P values and the n were included. Basically you will have to backtest each combination to verify the worth of the percentages for each promising setup.

Pecentages also vary quite a bit between different markets although some nice correlations do exist.

The book presents a lot lot more numbers than most books and therefore deserves appropriate credit. Some of the better stats can be tested in simple backtesting programs.

Would be more reasonably valued at a lower price than the listed retail.

Lot of mumbo.......2003-06-24

.... this book is filled with lots of white space, blank pages and mostly useless information. It's a very quick read, and has some limited trading appeal. The logic is very similar to market profile and daytraders' pivot numbers. Price seeks to reach a middle ground "pivot" - shaped like a bell curve, with the most activity in the middle and least on the extreme ends. This book throws a whole bunch of stats of percentages of what happened when in particular ranges. This is similar to market profile, with a vague theory of generalities, and requires you to work with wide stops within zones. Market profile and floor pivot number traders may find this book useful in linking together a method , but overall .. this book isn't worth buying.

extensive statistics, but still unreliable.......1999-04-20

Extensive statistics on support/resistance and probability of break thoughs are given for a ten year period. The good news is that it is accurate for the commodity that I checked out (lean hogs, they're were called live hogs back then), Unfortunately, the number of occurances is not given in the book. The author suggests taking a position on something that has has happened less than ten times in the last decade. Some occurances at the extreme of his price zones have happenned only once. For instance a 1 and 6 signal will have a 100% chance of doing something. No mention is given that population size is ONE! His theories of zones are interesting, and maybe this book will spur some reader to buiild on this theorey. But not this one......

Cornell Capa began the 1960 campaign season as a stalwart Adlai Stevenson supporter, having closely covered Stevenson's 1952 and 1956 presidential bids for Life magazine. Then, during the Wisconsin Primary, while working on a story for Life magazine on the nature of American politics, Capa encountered John F. Kennedy. The two men immediately gained mutual respect for each other, and, after Kennedy secured his party's nomination at the Democratic National Convention, Capa decided to cover his campaign for Life. When Kennedy was elected, Capa was inspired to create a book on the first 100 days of his presidency. Capa enlisted nine fellow Magnum photographers in his effort, including Henri Cartier-Bresson, Elliot Erwitt, and Burt Glinn. That book, titled Let Us Begin: The First 100 Days of the Kennedy Administration, was published on the 110th day, and is often cited as the first example of "instant history." Drawn from the collection of New York's International Center of Photography, the photographer's archives, and the Time-Life Picture Collection, the exhibition JFK for President includes both vintage and new prints, including rarely seen color images. Cornell Capa was born in Budapest in 1918 and has lived in New York since 1937. He was a photographer on the staff of Life magazine from 1946 until May 1954, when his brother, Robert Capa, was killed by a landmine in Indochina. Cornell then joined Magnum Photos, the agency that his brother co-founded. During his Magnum years, Capa traveled to the Soviet Union and covered the Israeli Six-Day War, but his most extensive projects focused on politicians from Adlai Stevenson to Barry Goldwater. In 1974 he founded the International Center of Photography in New York, and served as its director for 20 years. Since his retirement in 1994, he has worked on numerous books and exhibitions, and he remains one of the photographic community's most respected elder statesmen.

What she sees when she looks at herself.......2004-08-23

It's a remarkable set of stories. The author is in remission after decades of severe illness, and looks back at her own past. The stories, individually, range from the comical and embarassing to dark and disturbing. As a collection, they seem to form a research notebook, trying all the different ways to make sense of the facts of her life. There seems to be a lot of truth in each story and a lot of fiction. It's not always clear how much of each, but I don't think that really matters. If you have any empathy at all, it's not an easy read. It may well be worthwhile, though.
