Wonderful.......2000-03-14

This is a very inspiring book. I bought the Butter Busters cookbook years ago, and I bought this one when it came out. I've been eating and living low-fat and healthy for three years, and it has definitely paid off! This book is like a support system as well, connecting to all the other people who have found the knowledge of Pam Myscoski. There are also really good recipes in here, some for bread machines as well. Just a great book! This system of living can change your life for the better, if you let it!

A good book for those who have no background in Finance.......2000-04-10

I am a student studing Applied Finance here. I find this book quite worth reading for the beginners in Financial study and practitioners as well. It elaborates many basic but not not well-understood concepts in Finance in a simple way. This book was actually a collection of articles of a column "What Practitioners Need to Know" on Financial Analysts Journal. It has covered many important concepts in Financial area and tried to elaborate those ideas completely yet comfortably.

As the author said, "My presumed audience was .... who dabbles in quantitative methods. I have thus made an effort to avoid unnecessary technical jargon and to substitue numerical examples for mathematical symbolism." I think the author has achieved this point. However, this book is rather "old." I look forward to see the updated edition with other uncollected new articles.

For those who want to step into the palace of Finance, this is the book you couldn't miss.

This book as an amazingly helpful guide. Filled with practical, real world experience, it provided signficant insight into the "real" process of selling a business. The problems under debate concern the effects of the tax at different levels: what costs, in terms of GDP growth, will be paid by each European country? Will the effects on income distribution be larger than those on income level? Should the carbon tax be coordinated among the European countries or would it be better to impose a uniform tax rate on carbon emissions?
