This book is out of print and I managed to get a used copy as a gift to a friend. I first read it a few months ago, also a few months after I first got interested in wine. This is great reading for anyone into wine tasting, even only remotely. It not only gives you quite some information about French wines (occasionally American ones), but also teaches you how to be snobbishly cool with the whole thing with scathing humor. You'll laugh as you read through and recognize as well as make fun of your own snobbery in the future.

I neither know nor care about wine, but I found this book enormously entertaining.
Funniest Wine book ever.......2001-02-04
The book is written as an autobiographical story about Bernstein's quest to reach the upper ranks of wine snobbery. He covers what to order and when (and how to go from impressive to daringly impressive w/out spending too much) paring wine with food, what to do with the cork, how to taste wine without looking dumb, best names for wine ever, etc.
This book is great for beginners because it's a great way to learn, or for someone who already "knows it all" when it comes to wine because it's so funny. I've bought this book as a gift for several people and they always comment on it months later. While I suppose you could learn to become quite a wine snob, it's easier to laugh at them. I also noticed that my confidence around wine improved when I realized that the main thing a "real wine snob" did was ignore all "rules" about wine with confidence.

I bought this fantastic guide after my recent disgrace at the local wine club when I over-did it on the neck-oil and apparently bored everyone by coming out with the same laboured spit-or-swallow innuendo with every single one of the 14 wines we tasted. My wife tells me I was the only one who felt that the joke just got better and better.

Futures markets frequently hinge upon the expectations of traders and the ability of people operating within them to make maximum use of all available information. The rational expectations hypothesis has emerged as the most powerful analytical tool for examining the formation and consequences of expectations in economic activity. It therefore has a particular bearing on the study of futures markets.
Rational Expectations and Efficiency in Futures Markets compares and contrasts rational expectations with the efficient market hypothesis. While some economists have been unable to draw any meaningful distinction between the two approaches, most have agreed that they should be considered separately. Since both are concerned with exploiting information to the fullest capacity, they both face similar problems.
A team of international economists contribute original and specially commissioned chapters which answer these issues. A wide range of financial and commodity markets, including currencies, interest rates, livestock, grains and wool, are analyzed in an attempt to discover whether traders in futures markets use all relevant information and whether this is reflected in prices.

WHY I PASSED THE SERIES 7?.......1999-02-11
Having a few yrs in college but no degree in anything, let alone the stock market. i came to my new job having no idea what i was in for nor had i heard of the series 7. i spent a lot of time alone with the passtrack series, and successfuly passed the 7 the first time. i am still employed by a lg investment firm and use my license everyday. without this book, i doubt i could have done it. if you want to pass the first time. this is the book.
