Key Strategies for Plant Improvement.......2005-09-12
Very little new info. Other books also keep repeating same thing.
TPS From an Industrial Eng' Viewpoint and SMED are the only two needed.
Everything else is repetition.
the best ever writen book on machine improvement.......2000-04-17
Shigeo Shingo details the approach to improve unefficient equipments. The technical approach and the people change management are combined and explained in numerous convincing examples. This book is a must to anyone starting as manufacturing engineer (project, maintenance production ...)
Excellent thought provoking book!.......1999-04-01
Shigeo Shingo is truly one of the most under rated quality gurus out there. His methods and genius rank with Deming and Juran, but are much more easily applied. If you are interested in SMED, Constraint Management, Poka-Yoke or continuous improvement READ THIS BOOK

Customer Reviews:
Fills a great niche.......2007-07-14
A lot of pattern books delete children this age, or give a lot of stodgy patterns that would take so long to knit that kids would outgrow them. These are fashionable, well designed, and very lucid patterns with lots of extra explanations and help along the way. Anyone who can do basic knitting could knit any of these garments. They are not meant to be challenging, but that is a compliment. They are very usable. They only tiny complaint I could squeak out is that they are all for back and forth knitting, and I wish more patterns in the round were written for this age group, especially by such fashionable designers. Otherwise, this is one of the few books I chose to buy.
Just what i was looking for.......2007-01-05
Finally, a book of adorable patterns for older kids!!!! Very cute patterns!!!!
Quick, easy patterns that make you want to knit..........2006-09-29
I just learned how to knit over the summer and my first project was a sweater from the baby knits book. My older child was asking where his sweater was, so I was excited to get this book and find a pattern to tackle for him. There are so many sweaters and other projects that even a new knitter can create something really impressive. The explanations of more complicated stitches and patterns are detailed and very clear to help those who are ready to advance their skills try something new.
Can't find patterns for older kids? Plenty in this new book.......2006-09-03
Older kids need trendy knits in their size; the Yarn Girls' Guide to Knits for Older Kids has a lot of patterns kids will like. There are hoodies, colorful cardigans, thick pullovers, shawls, afghans and pillows. Something for boys and girls alike. If you like to knit or if you have a pre-teen knitter, this book will be in hot demand.
Patterns range for kids from age 4 to age 10, but some small 11-13 year olds could use the patterns or they can be adapted as some are very simple.

Leonard Garment, a current mainstay of the unelected elite who all but run Washington, was a close friend and adviser to Richard Nixon for 30 years. Indeed, at the height of Watergate, he was Nixon's lawyer. The part of this book that covers those White House years is elevated above the norm by Garment's honest, human presence--after all, this is the guy who advised Nixon not to destroy the Oval Office tapes. His humanity comes to the fore in the parts that cover his non-Watergate political forays, his pre-law career as a professional jazz musician, and his personal psychological difficulties. Yet, in his account of his life as a Washington fixer, the mark of Milhous is still visible. When he describes being the lawyer for a Reagan administration official who routinely taped phone calls without the knowledge of those on the other end of the line, Garment pooh-poohs the laws banning this practice and is a little too gleeful about the course of action he had his client take: destroying the tapes.
Book Description
Now in paperback: From jazz saxophonist to one of President Nixon's closest advisers-"I zipped through Crazy Rhythm in record time and enjoyed every last page."-Saul Bellow.
Leonard Garment was a successful Wall Street attorney when, in 1965, he found himself arguing a Supreme Court case alongside his new law partner -former Vice President Richard Nixon. It was the start of a friendship that lasted more than thirty years. In Crazy Rhythm, which the New York Times Book Review called "an eloquent memoir," Garment engagingly tells of his boyhood as the child of immigrants, and the beginning of a life-long love affair with jazz. After Brooklyn Law School, Garment went on to Wall Street, where encountering Nixon changed the course of his life. Crazy Rhythm allows us a rare, intimate look at Nixon's extraordinary tenure in the White House. More than that, the book tells stories from a life that has included close encounters with characters such as Benny Goodman and Billie Holiday, Henry Kissinger and Alan Greenspan, Golda Meir and Yasser Arafat, Giovanni Agnelli and Marc Rich, and moves like the best jazz, in a writer's voice that is truly one-of-a-kind. To quote former U.S. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, "A century from now, I cannot doubt Americans will still be reading Crazy Rhythm. This is a story of our time, written for the ages."
Customer Reviews:
Not Just Another Nixon Book..........1997-12-21
I was enticed by this book from the moment I read about Garment's lively performance of "Tiptoe through the Tulips" at age 7 in his father's dress making factory. Having read several Watergate books, I felt that this one was different for one specific reason; Garment makes Nixon into a human being, and helps to bring Nixon's several positive qualities to life (such as his wonderful foreign policy) that many Watergate-related authors have falied to acknowledge. I especially loved the ending of the book at his daughter Annie's Bat-Mitzvah; it was a wonderful conclusion to to a nostalgic story. I am left with only one question...when will the movie be out?
Some of the questions are answered in a very human story........1997-05-02
Garment shines a little light on some of the more puzzling questions of the Nixon administration and on Iran/contra. He writes as he speaks, conversational and wandering. That's the book's salvation, however: finally here's the human side of some of the darker moments in Republican government. We see how the three branches, press and other groups play off each other to achieve their goals. Like any good serial author, he leaves us hungry for the next book, which will "tell all" about Watergate. I can't wait

Rural Life in the Midwest.......2002-10-22
This book is a delightful autobiography of a lady who was born in rural Illinois nearly 80 years ago. Throughout her very active life, she has been a farmer's daughter, teacher, farm wife, special education instructor (with a master's degree), and ordained minister. These varied occupations have led to a host of life experiences which she shares with the reader. It is very entertaining, and for most of us who have not lived on a farm or in a rural setting, it gives great insight as to that kind of life-style.
The author's writing style is like an interesting story-teller around a camp-fire; it keeps you wanting to turn the page and find out more adventures of this intriguing lady and her family.

Hap Hazard's and Jerry Greenhorn's stupid questions about sales territory management enable an expert to teach them how to do it right. Enjoy the story while you learn the material.
Customer Reviews:
Complete waste of money.......2006-02-21
Do not buy this product. I guarantee that you will not learn anything that is not common sense for anyone older than a child. The lessons involve really basic statements like, "If a salesperson has too much work in a territory, he or she may not be able to cover all the income-generating customers and prospects effectively." Well, of course. Every lesson or statement leaves you thinking that even a monkey knows this.
You can only install this on one computer. I tried to resell this used but the publishers told me that they will not give an activation key for any other computer than the one original one, and there is no way to deactivate and move the license. So, I wasted my money and can't even get rid of it.
