It is packed with the author's personal stories and experiences of her clients (real people) who used her strategies and questions Escude is practically giving away in this tiny book (by size) and massive (by value). A great gift too.

It is full of errors. The explanations are difficult to follow. There are few highlights in the text which makes scanning for a quick review impossible. There is no chapter summary. The book presumes a thourough knowledge of Excel which many students do not have. Stay away!

Previous reviews inspired me for the purchase. This book is NOT MBA material. I would rate it at Business 101 book. Most spreadsheet models are basically the same using the SOLVER function in excel. There are better tutorials online.

Management Science made understandable.......2006-03-10

By incorporating Microsoft Excel spreadsheet examples of the problems, the authors have managed to make self-study management science possible. I'm absolutely convinced this is the best way to learn MS.
Anyone that has responsibility for making business decisions should keep a copy of this text nearby.

Good book but focus is more on how to get to answer fast than process.......2005-12-19

Used this book in B-school and loved modeling using @Risk (@Risk is the modelling software that comes with the book - pretty much self intuitive). My only complain with this book is that it was very focused on getting to the answer fast than really exaplaining the process and modeling techniques. After doing few examples you start to develop the intuition ... but I feel that the author could have done a better work in explaing the process behing modeling.

Unfortunatly we have to hear the oppinion of Uneducated people
people like Elena Simeon from Havana, Cuba. From her review I
can guess that she was probaly raised on a wellof family like
most rich SCAMS-BUGS cubans in Miami. I am not including the
great majority of cubans in miami who have a heart bigger then
Fidel's for cuba. I am not an advocate of FIdel at all.
I think he is another educated failure of our times.
BUT CHE was different the man cared for people and he proved it.
If not ask most cubans, Congolises, Europeans ..... we need
more man who care for the children of this world.

This book should be on every employer's bookshelf! I am so impressed by how comprehensive, well organized, and easy to use it is. Steingold really knows what he's talking about, he explains all of the complex laws and regulations that trip up unprepared employers and result in expensive lawsuits. Thanks to this book I learned the best ways to comply with OSHA, wage-and-hour laws, sexual harassment and discrimination laws, the Americans with Disabilities Act and many many more. You owe it to yourself to know your rights and responsibilities as an employer and to protect your company from needless litigation.

An excelent, readable, survey of the law on this topic. The greatest strengths of the book are two-fold. First, it is written in easy to follow, plain english. Second, it is amazingly comprehensive. I have been practicing employment law in two millenia, and this is the book that I use (after reviewing dozens) to teach non-lawyer classes on the topic. As with any survey book, it doesn't cover the details of the many topics it touches. You don't want to use this book to deal with comprehensive planning or an employment law dispute. But if you read this book you'll understand much of the language and many of the concerns of the experienced human resources professional or lawyer that you need.

I graduated from Kinzie Elementary school (Chicago, IL) in 1990 and for one year/one class, I had Jeri Banks for a teacher. Sometime after graduating in 1990, Banks became the principal.

She created an environment where deaf students and hearing students interacted with each other even to the point of having hearing students take sign language classes.

Though I haven't read this book yet I was a part of the experience. I was intrigued to find this book!
