        How disappointing! Having build robust e-commerce sites in 90 days or less myself, I was hoping to find insight into the process. Methods or procedures that could be leveraged effectively to improve success. Instead this book offered nothing of value. I read it in less than 2 hours and sold it immediately.... Definite Avoid rating.

        I was very excited to read 90 DAYS TO LAUNCH by Shayne Gilbert, being a Project Manager and MBA graduate in Chicago (seeing Shayne's Northwestern background), but was extremely disappointed in this book. The title is all wrong! "Internet projects on time and on budget" leads the reader to believe this is a resource for Project Managers (and actually states it is for PMs at some point) when it would better suit small business owners who might never have taken a class in business strategy! I hoped for some tips to help refine my PM skills, but once Shayne gets to scheduling, budgeting, and building a team, she points you to making a vendor selection - and it is only the vendor who can figure out if your scope can be achieved in the desired schedule and budget. How convenient that her website, 90daystolaunch, takes you to her consulting firm, no? ...

        This insightful book is an easy read providing both the novice and the experienced entrepreneur with a practical "how-to" guide of how to efficiently quickly and within budget, launch an on-line presence. The large font of the book makes it a quick read so you can get going with the practical side of the business. A post-launch plan insures that your online business is well taken care of for a long time after it makes its debut on world wide web. This is certainly a must for anyone who even thinks of going online with a brick and mortar business or just launching a brand new business online. 90 Days to Launch is one of those books you have to keep closeby even after you've finished reading it as it is a living and working guide and notebook, a true first one of a kind blueprint to Internet launch of any business.               As Services industries continue to become a larger and larger share of our global economy, the importance of Services Marketing can only grow. Wirtz and Lovelock have written an excellent book for understanding Services Marketing and backing it up with numerous excellent real world case examples. I have been in the Services industry for 21 years, but still learned a tremendous amount from the book and cases. The book makes it easy to grasp the key concepts and has a logical, smooth flow. If after reading this book and exploring the accompanying cases, you still don't have a thorough knowledge of Services Marketing, it is YOUR fault! I highly recommend this book and think it should be part of every MBA program.

              This is a great book for someone wanting an insight into services marketing. Few marketing text have the emphasis or focus on asian firms like this one. The instructor edition comes with a comprehensive teaching note to help teachers strategically to conduct classes closely to the cases found within the text. A must have for professional marketeers and aspiring students alike.

              Services Marketing in Asia is extremely well-written and a rare gem. The base text on Service Marketing teaching is great - vintage Lovelock and team you could say - but what stood out for me was the wealth of case studies.

              I have been through a couple of similar books in the past. But coming from Singapore, I have found most of the examples and case studies to be American or Euro-centric in nature, and not always readily applicable to the Asian context.

              Not to say that non-Asians would not benefit for this book, for I have found the insights in these case studies applicable across culture and industries.

              I highly recommend this. This is definitely one book I would keep within an arm's length for ready reference.

                  I bought this book as the text for a business leadership class I'm taking in college, and it has proven quite useful in only the first month of class. It goes through all different types of leadership styles and guides the reader to gain the tools necessary to being a good leader. I don't have any books to really compare this to, since this is the first business related book I've read. I especially like that there are so many different authors (ie-this is a collection of essays from various authors), thus making it very interesting and not at all biased in one direction or another. I'd definitely suggest reading this one.

                  The all-star cast alone should be enough to recommend the book - virtually every top thinker in the field is here (though aside from Bossidy, not a lot of first-hand accounts from CEOs). The chapters range from practical advice to thought-provoking theory, giving readers a solid overview. Leading and managing can be daunting tasks, so it's nice to have a resource which puts it all in one place. They've boiled each topic down to the essentials, so there's no fat even at 600+ pages. Overall, a (mostly) engaging read and a useful resource for any leader's bookshelf.

                      This unique and information rich book manages to tie intellectual capital to competitive advantage together in practical terms. What makes this book different from most is that other books tend to either focus on knowledge management as a process or go deep into details of that discipline, or treat the value of knowledge in theoretical terms with no solid link between competitive advantage and organizational knowledge.

                      Part I of the book covers resource-based strategies and how they support competitive advantage, with knowledge and intellectual capital as the primary resource. Part II extends the business imperatives by providing a resource-based view of knowledge itself and how it relates to organizational strategy. In Part III a compelling case is developed with a central theme that knowledge is a strategic asset. While few would dispute this fact, putting it into practice and incorporating this into organizational culture is the tricky part. The three chapters in this part of the book provide the basis for a value proposition to begin assimilating this into the corporate culture. Part IV is where it all comes together with four chapters that cover issues that will be encountered when integrating knowledge and strategy.

                      Chapters that I thought were particularly valuable or on the mark include: Knowledge and Competence as Strategic Assets (Chapter 9), Strategic Analysis of Intangible Resources (Chapter 10), and Leveraging Intellect (Chapter 15). Each of these were exceptionally well written and highlighted and synthesized the key theme of the book. If you're interested in linking knowledge to strategy for competitive advantage this book provides clarity and is full of ideas. I also recommend "CyberRegs: A Business Guide to Web Property, Privacy, and Patents" by Bill Zoellick, especially Part II (Patents), which shows how to further leverage intellectual capital.
