I really enjoyed this cookbook and all of its stories. I've tried a couple of the recipes (including the turkey for Thanksgiving) and they were as easy as promised. I'm glad I bought it and now I'm going to buy some for gifts.

Great recipes and wonderful stories about Nick Grippo's experiences in Hollywood catering for celebrities. He answers the questions I'd ask, such as what did he make, who did he make it for, and what was the experience REALLY like. The book is fun to read and I received it as a gift recently. The photos of the food are just beautiful, the candid shots with the stars are fun and informal and there is not a stuffy tone to the book, which is why I like it. It was also quite candid and revealing -almost as if Nick is "Everyman" in an apron. The layout was most unusual. It's quite a beautiful and deliscious book and gave me a few insights into Hollywood, along with a lot of laughs and a few tears when i read it..

Every once in a while - every once in a LONG while - you come across a book that has an original take on things, and really tells it like it is. I was totally won over by "Savvy Student"'s unsentimental and eye-opening perspective on the academic grading system, and I really believe that Heft's and Kinahan's practical advice on everything from where to sit in class to how to deal with an unexpected meeting with a professor off campus will help me escape from "wallpaper" status, and give me a real advantage as far as grades are concerned. That's why I took my copy with me when it was time to go back to college. If you want to give yourself the best possible chance of getting good grades, and are interested in doing it the smart way rather than the hard way, I seriously suggest you get your own copy of this book.

This book is really easy to read. I finished it in one night. Great for those people looking to learn more about process mapping and process improvement. He makes it seem so simple, you'll be amazed you didn't think of reengineering before. Doesnot focus too much on how to choose the right process but if you already know what you want to improve this is a great "how to" book.

If you love advertising and are looking for a basic and simple read... this is the one! The book breaks down into five sections covering the beginnings of the five greatest ad-man of all time - founders of Lord & Thomas (Lasker), Leo Burnett (Leo Burnett), O&M (Ogilvy), Publicis (Bleustein-Blanchet) and DDB (Bernbach). The book basically covers simple facts about their lives and how the business began, what clients they served and the famous campaigns they did. The book did not however, go into the full details on how the campaigns were conducted, why they did what they did, etc, etc... It's not a heavy read and took me just a few hours... interesting as I did not know much about Lasker, Bleistein-Blanchet and Bernbach. In terms of personal enhancement... the book will not make you a better ad-man nor copywriter... just an interesting read... recommended for the starters...
