    If you can do all of the practice test in the time allotted, you will do fine. The questions in the book are very similar in format of the test questions. Pay attention to the math questions and how to quickly identify the formula and algebraic structure for selected word problems, it saves a lot of time. This book was well worth the money, I scored very well on the test and I have not done this kind of math in a while.

    The ARCO booklet is the best help booklet I found. That's not to say it's perfect, it's just the best I found. I recommend studying like crazy as soon as find out you'll be taking the test. The test is seriously no joke. I took it and passed, but not by much. Best wishes to all.

    The book is basically alot of sample questions. It's in three sections: arithmetic reasoning, verbal reasoning, and investigative reasoning. I purchased this book for the IRS Criminal Investigation Tea Exam and beginning this year they do not test the arithmetic reasoning anymore. The verbal reasoning questions were much much easier than the real thing. The book is cheap so I would recommend purchasing it just to get an idea of what kind of questions they ask, but overall I found the questions to be too easy to what the exam asked.

    I had only about a week to review before I took the test, and this book helped me the best. The LearningExpress book was WAY too easy. This one gives you a good idea of the formatting of the questions. The questions on the exam are more focused toward federal law enforcement, but you get the basic idea of how to answer the questions. At the end of each practice test, it tells you the answer and how they got it. It helped me pass!

    This book makes the test seem extremely easy. It is not. If you have other options, don't buy this book. I don't think any of these people have ever actually taken the test.

    I bought this book as well as the ARCO Master the Treasury Enforcement Agent Exam. The LearningExpress book oversimplified the questions. Having read it first, I thought the test was going to be very easy to pass, especially since I hadn't done that kind of math in about 8 years. Once I looked at the ARCO book, I realized it wouldn't be such a cakewalk. The ARCO book helped me pass the test. Had I simply gone off the LearningExpress book, I would have failed the math portion, no questions about it. I DO NOT recommend this book to anyone trying to get ready for the TEA exam.

    I'll start by saying, I did pass this test, but I will also say that I attribute none of that to this book. After reading this book cover to cover, I walked in thinking it would be a cake-walk. In actuality, in terms of content, this book is nothing like the test, but I will say, the format of the sample tests were right on, which is the only reason I gave this 2 stars. This book was also poorly edited, when checking my answers, I would go back to review the ones I missed, and in several cases, the answer key was wrong (especially on the math section). My biggest pet peeve of all, though, was the answer sheets. The questions had answers that went from A to E, but on the answer sheet, only A to D! When an answer was E, I would have to draw a little E and fill in the bubble. Granted, this is not a big deal, but it was very annoying and it proves that this book was edited by a 5 year old, if at all.

    Absolutely DO NOT use this book if you are taking the new ICE exam. I used this book about 2 years ago to study for the original TEA. I was cofident and felt very prepard. I was dead wrong. The math section seriously gave me a panic attack - I am terrible in math and the TEA book did not prepare me whatsoever. SO, I failed, but I took the ICE test just a few months ago and passed. I used the Arco Special Agent book which really, really helped me. The math sections are so helpful. Even read the logical reasoning sections. When you take the exam, you will realize how much easier the logicals are compared to the book.

    I just took the test today and I wanted to write this while it was fresh in my mind. I think this is the PERFECT book to START with for people that have well over one month to prepare and are shaky in math and reading comprehension... It gives many SIMPLE problems and explains them well. I literally forgot how to complete simple math problems because I have not done them in 10 years and this book really helped me remember that stuff. But, be careful...many of the problems are TO EASY and are not close to the real exam questions. So, if you are in the same situation and have a lot of time to prepare, I would buy this book as a start and then move to the ARCO Deputy Marshall book. The ARCO book is much closer to the exam but it assumes that you remember some simple math. GOOD LUCK!!

    I studied for the TEA with this book and almost walked out of the test. I read the book cover to cover and walked in feeling very confident. The joke was on me! When I got to the math part, after 4 questions, I seriously considered walking out. I reconsidered and finished the test. Luckily, I have a strong enough background that I passed. A friend of mine who took it at the same time (and studied the same book) was not as fortunate. I definitely do NOT recommend this book! The other sections were not bad, but the math? Fuhgeddaboutit....

            Have you ever heard of a SWOT analysis? If you have, then this book is not for you. This book is very good for an entry level book. The authors have very little successful experience in business plan writing and the tasks they include are elementary. You would be much better off reading and intro to marketing textbook instead. The textbook would cover fundamentals of marketing. I respect the authors background, but most people would be better off with a different book.

            This is a great way to get your arms around doing the some times challenging task of writing a marketing plan. It takes you through the process step-by-step and it is filled with great resources, especially the current web sites it suggests. A great way to get that plan accomplished with solid coaching throughout. These guys know what they are doing!

            Regardless of whether you like the "warfare" analogies or not, the concepts discussed in this book is Marketing 101 for marketers.

            First Ries/Trout explain which method of attack your company should use depending on its position in the marketplace. Then they describe what each position should do. Then they use some great classic case studies like the beer wars, cola wars, and computer wars.

            Usually I hate these "outdated" books but the content in here is classic. They've updated the book and critiqued their own predictions made 20 years ago. For example, with over 50% of the PC marketshare, they were certain that IBM would remain the leader. Ooops.

            Highly recommended for marketers.

            I found this one to be the weakest of all the books by Ries and Trout. As Creative Director of AUDIN Web Design, it just didn't capture my interest like their other books. Don't get me wrong, I think these authors are geniuses and I love their books. This one just didn't do it for me; I think it was the warfare motif. I'm not a pacifist, but it just didn't work for me: Warfare as Marketing. The funny thing is that I actually bought this book twice: once ten years ago in paper back and then again in hardback more recently. That goes to show you how forgettable I thought this book was. If you are on a real tight budget, buy a different book by these authors.

            Jack Trout explains the battle of MARKET forces and how to survive in it,

            Still thinking about buying the book, You may feel the need to read this book after a hard competition!

                  This book has some interesting projects and i like how it is organize. WHat i don't get are some of the projects it has, i mean it is suppose to be about modern furniture and i really don't care about wheels and some oold fashion pieces.

                  I had a number of problems with this book, which basically come down to that I wanted a book on "modern" furniture - a style developed in the 20's and 30's - but that's not what the book means by "modern", they mean "of today". Few of the projects in the book are in the "modern" style I was looking for. Many are rustic or distinctly pre-modern in style.

                  The book is a collection of articles from Fine Woodworking magazine. Some of them are indeed "projects" as the title implies, but many of them read more like "a brief discussion of things you could do" instead. The ones I would call "projects" go on with the assumption that they will present a piece of furniture, show plans, and describe how it is made. The others basically show a few photos of furniture and discuss their features and a few details of their construction, without actually showing anything about what to do. I found this particularly frustrating as most of the few pieces in the book that I really liked were merely shown without much discussion.

                  If you just want a book of articles about making furniture, it's a well printed book and I suppose the articles could be interesting in that context. However, if you're looking for a book about making furniture in the 20's/30's "modern" style, I don't think this is it.

                    Few marketing books has the enjoyable read character. it is safe to say that Big Brands...Big trouble leads the pack. Concise yet informative, the book focus on the notion that marketing is about winning your customers' minds and hearts.

                    By going through ample examples of famous brands, Mr. Trout dispel some of the conventinoal strategies most companies blindly undertake. Line extention according to him, has done nothing but damage to At&T and Miller Brewing. The giant P&G has lost big on the toothpaste line becasue they forgot what made their brand a hit. Fashionable outlets such as Levi' and M&S needs to rise out from the past and look more into the future by developing their own unique "brand lifestyle".

                    On the dark side, the book is relatively redundant and by the end of it, it looses out. Also, the recurring negative remarks on another business guru "Michel Porter" was needless and hence lost the book the full the mark.

After reading this book, you will understand why some brands cannot be established well even they have spent a lot money on advertising, introducing many new products.

                    Jack Trout, head of the marketing firm Trout & Partners, digs for details about the major reasons big brands run into trouble and just how enormous companies mess up by handling their signature standard-bearers badly. He runs down the litany: mistaken extensions of the brand name, failures to differentiate the brand's qualities and loss of clarity about just what a brand represents. His failure sagas are mini-novels based inside Xerox, General Motors, AT&T, Digital Equipment, General Mills and Coca-Cola. Remember New Coke? Now that was a branding debacle. Trout highlights corporate shortcomings and lays the blame for branding woes right at the feet of people who should have known better: of out-of-touch CEOs, ineffective consultants and dysfunctional boards. Traditional microeconomics, however, make cognitive and motivational assumptions of subjects` full rationality that are revealed as being unrealistic by a growing number of experimental investigations. The present book adds an important contribution to the understanding of principles of boundedly rational behavior by directly observing groups of subjects in a decision situation and videotaping their discussions. A very important result of the book is that the behavior of subjects is guided by aspirations regarding the final outcome. The levels of aspirations are influenced by prominence and different forms of the equity principle resulting in several fairness norms as to the allocation of the amount of money to be divided. Another important feature of the book stems from the analysis of break off discussions and enables a motivational explanation of the emergence of breakdowns in bargaining.

                        I am almost through the book and have found it helpful. However, the main reason I bought this book in particular was because it came with a practice disk. Guess what? The disk doesn't work. I emailed Glencoe and they told me to call Medisoft, and they told me to call Glencoe. If you're not taking a class, do not buy this book.
