LIfe Changing.......2004-07-11
Thank you Peter.
Awesome Book.......2004-07-11
Make sure and read each chapter over until Peter's teachings are fully understood and make sure and do the exercises.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to win in the negotiating process. Can't wait to read his next book.
Book is Great.......2004-07-11
Additionally I especially like how he tells you what to avoid in both personal and business deals.
I highly recommend this book and have read it several times. When you purchase it read it a few times and be sure to complete the exercises in the book as they are very helpful.
Obnoxious style, too anecdotal, nothing new.......2004-07-06
Every review is a personal affair. You either connect with the author or you dont. I didnt. You either like his style or you dont. I dont. He comes along as cocksure, obnoxious little car salesman or a sleek guy who runs Get rich quickly by investing in my companys property schemes seminars. Now, he may be a nice, decent, hardworking guy, and he probably is. But that is not the way he comes across to me in his book.
There are millions Always do this & and Never do that& pieces of advice in this book. Too simplistic, and in some case downright dangerous advice! Such as Always squeeze everything you can out of every deal. Life is not Black and White and squeezing does not a good negotiator make!
Many times the author introduces a concept (such as red herring) and simply says youll learn about that in chapter 12. That is not only unsound methodologically and pedagogically, but annoying to readers.
There is 1 (one) single illustration in this book, a flow chart of some sort, claiming to be a process model of communication and negotiation. It is a very poor and incorrect model indeed. Anybody who understands process flow-charting and negotiation would never accept this as a model of negotiation. Plus communication and negotiation are very different processes and cannot be represented by the same flowchart! It is like saying that kissing and sex are the same. Kissing may be part of sex (just as communication is one aspect of negotiation) but it is NOT sex!
In conclusion, avoid like a plague (this book, not sex)!

Summarizes FDA rules, but does not discuss them.......2003-10-09
I was looking for some interpretation, examples, what is typically done in the real world to meet requirements, etc.
It's a good reference book, but just a starting point in understanding what is necessary to satisfy the FDA in medical device manufacturing. Buy it used if possible, you won't be using it much except for reference.
Good at laying out the rules.......2000-12-07
After spending 2.5 days with an FDA auditor, I realized that I did not know what was expected by the regulatory body in terms of process validations, equipment installation and maintenance and all of the record-keeping and documentation that is required for them.
To learn all of that quickly, I purchased and studied this book. For each subject (process validations, equipment, calibration and all other areas), it lists the FDA regulation, the corresponding ISO regulation and then has an "FDA guidance" section that breaks down both into plainer English. It was helpful to have all of the information in one place.
The frustrating part with the FDA is that they won't tell you exactly how to do things, they'll just lay out the rules and you have to figure out how to get there from here. This book is good at laying out all of the rules.
I would recommend this book to any level person who may have to answer to an auditor. There are sections on Design Control, Nonconforming Production, Labeling and Packaging, Statistical Techniques and more that apply to each area of the business.

This work establishes the existence of a sophisticated and smoothly functioning system of financial markets in the mercantile states of northwestern Europe throughout the 1700s. Based on computer analysis of thousands of price quotes from the financial press of the eighteenth century, the results should force both historians and economists to reevaluate their understanding of the evolution of financial markets and their importance for the economic developments of that era.

The Strictures of Inheritance: The Dutch Economy in the Nineteenth Century (Princeton Economic History of the Western World)
Jan Luiten van Zanden , and Arthur van Riel Manufacturer: Princeton University Press ProductGroup: Book Binding: Hardcover Similar Items: ASIN: 0691114382 |
Book Description
A major feat of research and synthesis, this book presents the first comprehensive history of the Dutch economy in the nineteenth century--an important but poorly understood piece of European economic history. Based on a detailed reconstruction of extensive economic data, the authors account for demise of the Dutch economy's golden age. After showing how institutional factors combined to make the Dutch economy a victim of its own success, the book traces its subsequent emergence as a modern industrial economy.
Between 1780 and 1914, the Netherlands went through a double transition. Its economy--which, in the words of Adam Smith, was approaching a "stationary state" in the eighteenth century--entered a process of modern economic growth during the middle decades of the nineteenth. At the same time, the country's sociopolitical structure was undergoing radical transformation as the decentralized polity of the republic gave way to a unitary state. As the authors show, the dramatic transformation of the Dutch political structure was intertwined with equally radical changes in the institutional structure of the economy. The outcome of this dual transition was a rapidly industrializing economy on one side and, on the other, the neocorporatist sociopolitical structure that would characterize the Netherlands in the twentieth century.
Analyzing both processes with a focus on institutional change, this book argues that the economic and political development of the Netherlands can be understood only in tandem.
