A Good Book for Finance/IT majors.......2007-09-17

This book does what it sets out to do: teach spreadsheet modeling. I'm only on the third chapter, but the author does a good job including step by step instructions on how to create winning models. The author is also very easy to understand. So if you're going to be doing optimization and modeling in your work, I highly recommend this book.

Ragsdale really makes spreadsheet modeling accessible to real-world business situations. It was a great asset to my MBA coursework. As a student, it came with a free student version of @RISK risk analysis software as well.

The author concerntrated on the application of Microsoft Solver to solve various of optimazation problems that we freqently faced in the real business opreations. Keep Looking.......2002-10-08

This book is extremely long on what, but strangely short on how. So if your aim is to learn about ISO 9001:2000, by all means, this is the book for you. But if you're interested in implementation, keep looking.

Wonderful intro & unique approach to documentation.......2002-03-26

I like this book for two reasons: (1) it steps you through what it takes to implement a quality system based on ISO 9001:2000, and (2) it shows how to develop your quality manual and documentation using Information Mapping techniques.

First, the approach to ISO 9001:2000. The author clearly explains what ISO 9001 is and what to expect in the certification process. If you're new to ISO 9001 (or 9002 or 9003) then the comparison in Chapter 2 between the 1994 and 2000 versions can be safely skipped, but if your organization is already certified, or wish to move from 9002 or 9003 to 9001, then the explanation of the differences is extremely helpful. Chapters 3 through 8 are standard fare that you would expect to find in any book about ISO 9000-series. What sets this book apart is the clear writing and ease of finding information. If you've read other books on the subject you know how dry they can be. This book is as lively as the subject matter permits (believe me, *any* book on the subject is going to be ponderous reading).

The process is studied theoretically and numerically. This online training kit is a self-paced, complete objective coverage of the exam certification. You have over 250 topics to choose from and you are in control of what you study, when you study and for how you study.

One of the feature I really like is the "DASHBOARD", this gives you the ability to view tips, read the glossary and print out topics of your choice. The installation was easy and there were no major problems, I would however recommend a Pentium 233 processor.

Making the exam easier is one way of ensuring people pass; this online training kit is another. Microsoft is a trusted and respected name in the computer and software industry and this product proves their commitment to excellence.

I was really impressed by the title of this book. But when i actually bought it, i found out that it was not very detailed. I found other books like exam cram and exam prep etc much more informative than this one. If you want my advice go for any other book but this.

An empirical econometric study that tests an earlier worldwide survey showing that advertising has had little impact on total alcohol consumption or adverse outcomes associated with drinking. The advertising executives, also trained as sociologists and statisticians, offer a conceptual model for advertising effects. They define and describe both predictor and outcome variables and how they are operationalized and measured. Statistical data are summarized and trends in predictor variables and alcohol consumption from 1950 to 1990 are identified. Data are analyzed in a regression context to isolate factors that significantly affect demand for alcohol and time series relationships are explored. In addition they focus on mortality rates over the 40 year study period of three diseases clearly related to the consumption of alcohol. Fisher and Cook simulate how rates and numbers of deaths might be affected if advertising or prices changed, and then they collect all their findings and draw conclusions.
