Revise the picture card............2007-01-08

It has lots of good ideas for teaching the alphabets creatively. My only issue with it is the pictures chart. It's black and white, hand drawn and somewhat "noisy" - E.g. with the picture of the letter "Q q" - the little figure on top of the little q, I presume, must be a "queen" but to me looks like a bug; it took a minute to decipher the picture. haha..try telling your kid it's a queen. Just a little too much details for a learning disabled child. Perhaps just photos of a person making the letter sounds might communicate better.

Great for teaching letter sounds........2005-03-02

I have used this book for the past 2 years with my preschool classes. The kids are learning the letters and sounds so easily and quickly. This book provides you with the necessary tools to teach to several different learning styles(visual, auditory and kinesthetic) at once. I also love how the kinesthetic cueing system focuses on the shape and movement of the mouth while forming the sound.
I would reccomend this book!

As an EMS project manager I found this book to very comprehensive with easy to follow case studies that were clear, concise and proved to be very valuable. So much of implementing an EMS deals with change management and this handbook lays out what changes an organization and skills a project manager needs to consider as it makes steps on this path toward ISO 14001 implementation. Another benefit is the excellent, easy to read examples created for each element of the standard providing a great starting point from which to take that leap! I recommend the handbook to others investigating environmental management systems.

This handbood explains the elements of ISO 14001 and how to implement them in a clear and concise manner. The authors make the reader feel confident that they can implement an EMS no matter what their industry.

I like how they step through each element of the standard, explain what it means and then show how others have addressed that element with real world examples. We hear from environmental managers in five companies (from a small, Midwest tool manufacturer to a mulit-national pharmaceutical conglomerate) how they implemented their EMS. Actual copies of policies, aspects lists, management meeting notes and cost data as well as tips and advice are, sprinkled throughout the book. There is also a list or resources and related websites listed in an appendix.

This is an easy read (a plus for anyone with limited time) and would make an excellent addition to an EMS training package. I will recommend it to my membership.

We have used this book as a training tool and as an appreciation gift for clients and staff. The book has a very practical approach. I've described the book as better than "Cliff Notes" but not a dissertation. We have clients requst bulk orders to use as training materials for their staff.

This is the first major study of a pivotal episode in West African history, the great railroad strike of 1947-48, examined from the perspective of Africans who worked and lived along the Dakar-Niger railroad. As the first inter-territorial movement to oppose colonial rule, the railroad workers inspired pan-Africanists everywhere and prepared the way for the decolonization of French West Africa. African railroad workers operated the railroad - the major economic artery of Senegal and especially the Soudan"so they acted as intermediaries between Africans and French in colonial society. During the strike, they successfully challenged European privileges by employing a combination of French legal tactics and the railroad itself, which offered the means of transportation and communication. I purchased this book (11th Ed. paperback) to prepare for my CLEP Info Sys and Comp Apps exam. I was able to ace my CLEP by relying primarily on this excellent book. This book provides a general but comprehensive coverage of the entire breadth of computer science and technology and is an excellent test preparation, not only for computer novices and newbies, but also for students with a strong IT background. It has something to offer everyone. It is written in an easily readable and enjoyable format with plenty of attractive graphics and images. The authors have worked hard to keep the material up-to-date and relevant. I have decided to keep this book even after taking my CLEP because I find it to be also a very handy and useful reference book. I understand there is a 12th Edition out there now. I would suggest buyers consider purchasing the 12th Edition. Overall an excellent purchase.

not a bad book however my lecturer has noticed several factual and historical mistakes about the subject matter which it simply shouldnt have done for a book used by many students.
But the fact that your never quite sure weather what your reading is fact or not is not what gets me. The truley annoying thing about this book is the American propaganda. The little bits that the authors have put in to "prepare" students for when they vote. for instance they say things like "terrorists now are researching ways to destroy one of most valuable personnal and commercial assets- the contents of our disks. They do this by seeking points of vunerability in PCs and servers and by planting destructive viruses......cyber terror is now part of the terrorists arsenal of evil."
what the hell? Did i just pick up a academic book or a copy of the Daily mail!
