      Radtke takes a generally vague term "P.R" and makes specific, detailed entry ways that prove essential in the creation of a public relations framework. The text concentrates on breaking up tasks into manageable units from the creation of the perfect mission statement to completion of an internal audit. The internal audit is a great example of the way Radtke approaches every angle of the P.R. question; Radtke isn't just focused on demographics (or psychographics or geographics--all are explained here) or target audiences but she also encourages readers to investigate the inner workings of their specific organization. By examining the specific organization (from the number of phones to the personality of the staff) Radtke helps you design the most appropriate plan for your non-profit group. The accompanying C.D. helps you utilize the detailed models in the text and it's terribly easy to use, making the learning process much more fun. My only complaint would be that the information presented is a bit dense, making steady reading somewhat difficult. However, I reccomend Lawrence Wallack's straight forward "News for a Change" as an aid to Radtke's detailed vision. However, Wallack doesn't tackle as many issues as Radtke and her text still stands alone.

            The book is interesting, but if you are looking for a good book about the warehousing I'd recommend another one. It is the right book if you don't know anything of warehouses and facilities.
            This book spends a lot of pages in the Appendix (50%).
            Futhermore the regulations are USA ones, so if you don't live in the USA you don't need to know them.
            Order this item if you are a novice and order another if you are a logistics executive.

            Great for the novice
            I was new to the warehouse management and looking for a book to teach me and guide me through the topics, this book did so. The most important feature of the book are the forms, plus you can grab them out of the Plastic Comb an use them right away. The author gives an overview of the warehouse operations and how to handle them for excellence. With this book I took the Inventory Record Accuracy from 20% to 95% in four months, a must for those new to the warehouse operations and standards.

                  The idea behind increasing effectiveness is a good one. There were times that I was able to incorporate the ideas into the situations here in an optical office. There were more times however, that the events just do not unfold as you would hope. It is as this point that the book's offered guidelines become faint and you may find yourself deeply in, and feel like you are starting over.
                  Worked in conjunction with the other Minute Manager books your business self is improved. The earlier books were more helpful than this addition to the series on their own. This edition just does not stand up by itself.

                  One of the main problems with most organizations is the amount of victimization throughout; blaming everything and everybody for ones problems. In delightful story form, this book shows how one can go from being a victim to self leader.                   I selected a variety of management books to browse at a local bookstore. This was the second book I picked up from the stack and I didn't get to any of the others. I couldn't put it down. Because it was such a quick and easy read, I finished it in the store!

                  When I finished I felt better about myself, my position at my newly formed software company, and how to push through to complete my large goal list. I will definitely be adding this book to my library. My friends and coworkers will be receiving copies as well.

                  Blanchard's Leadership and the One Minute Manager written in 1985 was an excellent, easy to understand book about Situational Leadership.

                  Self Leadership and The One Minute Manager is a "must read" if you are working in the year 2006. Here's why...

                  Blanchard points out on page xiii of the introduction that it is not unusual for a manager to have 25 to 75 direct reports. Some of these direct reports he/she may never have met face to face.

                  This "fact of working life" makes it important for YOU to take responsibility for the application of the situational leadership model to YOUR life and career. Your supervisor or HR no longer has the time to be concerned with the YOUR career development.

                        I ordered this book on October 24th and paid instantly through my credit card, I am in an accelerated course which started on October 26th and the first assignment wasn't until like November 1st...I didn't receive the item until November 14th! Wow, Now I'm two weeks behind and luckily I was able to wing it for two weeks and still maintain an A...If you are going to order give them at least a month to ship it out.

                        I have used this book for the last 4 years to help me plan my finances and complete my 1040 return.                                     This book offers practical wisdom on how to successfully design and implement a distance learning system. It is written by proven professionals who know what it takes to get a major change initiative completed in the corporate environment. I highly recommend the book!

                                    This book is for those who want to learn more about distance learning, but don't know where to begin. The title of the book says "An Implementation Guide for Trainers and Human Resources Professionals" but this book would be helpful to any manager involved in distance learning, whether it is developing a program or evaluating the feasibility of implementation. Chapters include basic overviews of audio, video and web-based learning, determining if your company is ready and program design & delivery. The book includes some valuable information about the differences between the different methods of distance learning. This is a no-nonsense approach without a lot of fluff, but offers some sensible, solid content and a good introduction to the topic. Recommended.
