Great color photos on www.thephoenixlights.net. But more important than lights in the sky, this painstakingly researched work is a tribute (and consolation) to anyone who has ever experienced something out of the ordinary. I have recommended it to my students and friends since discovering it a couple years ago. Packed with compelling information, this true story is about "seeing the light" and the integrity, persistence and dedication of one human being's search for the truth. An inspiration for us all.

This book is a waste of time. How many times can one say "I saw these lights. What are they?" There are a few pictures showing little bitty lights in the distance sky. You see the lights, but they're are no more than specks. This is really a "nothing-said" book. Save your money.

Whether or not you are a believer in life beyond Earth, this book makes a substantial case that we are being visited by other intelligences - one that is a relief and comfort for those of us who have experienced an UP [Unexplained Phenomenon]. The author, who is a noted physician, educator and experiencer, shares her own journey of discovery, while helping the reader discover that we're not alone - and probably never have been. This book is a joy to read, as well as an intriguing guide, particularly for those searching for answers.

While I was searching, I happened on www.thephoenixlights.net and found the color photographs and footage on the site even more compelling than the black and whites illustrated in the book.

But make no mistake, this important story is a must read for young and old alike.

This is a fine book and there's no disputing the sincerity of the author or her commitment to the truth. I suggest, though, that individuals interested in this event(s) also examine other books and look at additional items, like the Peter Jennings special, to get a sense of the odd ebb and flow of information on this subject. That program--the segment on the Phoenix Lights in particular--deserves some analysis; it was structured rather interestingly. Find a sharp friend with experience in advertising, psychology, or marketing to watch it with you.

People clearly saw something unusual that night (and at other times) and it certainly seemed like the unusual phenomenon went out of its way, so to say, to be seen. That may be the most important element--it was designed to be seen and to be discussed. Plenty of people were out comet-watching; an audience was guaranteed. (Curiously, a lot can go on in the sky right over the heads of urban populations and no one will see a thing--few actually look up. I've seen crowds in broad daylight not see the Goodyear Blimp pass right over their heads--if they couldn't hear it--and other things). Strange isolated lights alone will seldom attract the eye but patterns of lights almost always will. That can be done with lights attached to some rigid structure, lights in coordinated and controlled formation, and lights simply dropped in a rough pattern. It would seem that all three phenomenon--all the possible permutations--happened. Hm.

Again, all media information on the Phoenix Lights is useful as it helps to sort the wheat from the chaff. Oh, for the curious I strongly recommend you look at other titles from Hampton Roads Publishing Company that are not obviously flaky and New Age.

[If you ask me, there was nothing ET about anything that happened that night, but a lot of people absolutely did see something huge and extraordinary. Now, what're the biggest danged things that ever sailed the skies?]

Similar worldwide incidents, interdimensional and time travel, Native American connection, sentient beings billions of years ahead of us...these are but a pin point of the riveting topics Dr. Lynne Kitei touches on in her terrific book.

The Doctor has done an excellent job in putting everything together. She has also done an excellent job of getting the word out, not only in her book, but in a brilliant Documentary as well. Very impressive work.

What is astounding is that she remained quiet for so long. Her tenacity, perseverance and commitment gives one hope that significant information will be forthcoming from others of knowledge and integrity concerning what has, is and will be occurring to our planet in the days to come.

They tell you how to adapt any company's best practices to your business. They highlight dozens of examples from the thousands that they have collected for Andersen's popular database. The authors take a direct, no-frills approach to presenting their ideas and information, and concentrate on case histories that give you plenty of details.                                   A useful text with numerous examples to motivate and encourage your team to get creative and innovative. Useful to owners of small businesses and entrepreneurs to understand how the big organisations succeed. It is little things that could be done for big returns. With the focus on simple things like benchmarking and audit, understanding markets, products and services, it brings all together on winning customers. I have often trawled this book for best practices from time to time and without fail, I have found often new insight and ideas each time I flipped through it. Its a kind of book you may want to read and dip into from time to time for ideas to spark your creativity! The best practice agenda & top ten diagnostic questions at the end of each chapter are useful tools to develop your own best practices.

                                  The books quotes numerous examples. That's what the book is all about.

                                  Readers may use these as foundation point for implementing best practises in their own companies. Different companies have different situations.

                                  These ideas motivate one to perform well, often to surge ahead of the competition. Gives you the adrenaline pump to come out with the best.

                                  The importance of value-chain is emphasized by quoting examples of companies such as Lexus which managed continuity of service despite problems in plants of its suppliers.

                                  Readers have to be cautioned that this book is not a panacea to customer-service problems.

                                  Customer Service is not a mere toll-free number. A reader will realise this and much more by reading this book.

                                  No it doesn't take major working capital to build a successful marketing machine. It does require a focus on the details that are important to your customers. Before you squander working capital on fancy advertising campaigns, read this book. Then you will learn that spending your money on product formulation, service and support are the cornerstones to successful marketing. This book provides exceptional real world examples of how to grow a business by focusing on customer service solutions.

                                  This book should have been titled "Best Practices,as Understood by AA". While there's good information on how others have focused on giving customers what they want, when they want it, where they want it and how they want; there's little new ground covered. Rather than looking inward to AA people for "Best Practices" the authors should have sought out cutting edge solutions and provided ways to implement. The promblem with corporate inbreeding is that you limit the intellectual gene pool.

                                    In this book Greg Elmer brings the perspectives of cultural and media studies to the subject of consumer profiling and feedback technology in the digital economy. He examines the multiplicity of processes that monitor consumers and automatically collect, store, and cross-reference personal information. When we buy a book at Amazon.com or a kayak from L.L. Bean, our transactions are recorded, stored, and deployed to forecast our future behavior--thus we may receive solicitations to buy another book by the same author or the latest in kayaking gear. Elmer charts this process, explaining the technologies that make it possible and examining the social and political implications.

                                    Elmer begins by establishing a theoretical framework for his discussion, proposing a "diagrammatic approach" that draws on but questions Foucault's theory of surveillance. In the second part of the book, he presents the historical background of the technology of consumer profiling, including such pre-electronic tools as the census and the warranty card, and describes the software and technology in use today for demographic mapping. In the third part, he looks at two case studies--a marketing event sponsored by Molson that was held in the Canadian Arctic (contrasting the attendees and the indigenous inhabitants) and the use of "cookies" to collect personal information on the World Wide Web, which (along with other similar technologies) automate the process of information collection and cross-referencing. Elmer concludes by considering the politics of profiling, arguing that we must begin to question our everyday electronic routines.

                                    Greg Elmer pulls the veil off the universal practice of consumer profiling and data-collection, and demonstrates its deep societal influence. Daily, when you swipe a credit card or buy a magazine or go online, your personal habits are monitored - and someone will use that information to make a buck. Both in terms of its topic and its treatment, this book should be too theoretical to hold much interest for the business public. Who cares about communications theory as applied to the continual mapping of personal consumer information? However, you can't push this into a dusty corner, because the subtle cultural effect of the increasingly close monitoring and data mining of consumer behavior is too powerful to overlook. While the book has a slightly dry, academic direction, we still strongly recommend it to those who are curious whether the juggernaut economic machine will steamroll over the privacy rights of those who use and feed it.

                                    Elmer is a good writer and innovative thinker. He provides the reader with provacative insights on a subject little considered but worthy of greater attention.
