Difficult to navigate!.......2002-02-15

Well this is my first EBook and I must say the EBook Reader program interface is horrible. I would much rather read the book with the standard Acrobat reader which has thumbprints and other ways to jump from location to location rather than the limited EBook navigational tools. I am very dissapointed with this purchase.

Recommended reading for students of African politics.......2001-03-19

The Dilemmas Of Africanization: Choices And Dangers For Sub-Saharan Africa describes the inevitable consequences of new and emerging African governments implementing a policy of replacing certain existing classes of non-black business owners and plantation-scale farmers with their own (often untrained and inexperienced) citizens. While the white owners of these farms and commercial enterprises departed the country, no native citizenry accepted the opportunity to continue their operations which resulted in the ravaging of the mercantile section of the economy while plantations ceased to be productive. Adding to the severe economic situation was the permanent deprivation of intellectual capital necessary to adequately conduct development -- and a sharp decrease of available capital for investment. Even in the face of decades of national examples of this deeply flawed social and national policy, Zimbabwe continues to confiscate white farms even with a ruined economy running rampant and South Africa after the removal of apartheid is experiencing incidences of white commercial farmer assassination and general white flight which does not bode well for its economic and political future. Very highly recommended reading for students of African national cultures, politics, economics, and international relations, Dalton Cato's The Dilemmas Of Africanization is a revealing, documented expose based upon years of his personal research and experience while traveling and working in African, assisting people to deal with post-independent governmental experiments, polices and politics.

Dry reading, but intelligent.......2000-07-13

I used this book as a text for a history course at UC Riverside. The author unrolls his opinion eloquently in this book. Readers will gain a comprehensive history of Western Europe after WWII and its turn to social democracy. Urwin's chapters include topics of treaties, the EEC, and the dozens and dozens of economic and political arrangements; Europe is moving towards economic and political integration. Urwin would not suggest a United States of Europe, but a Union where the European members no longer swindle, cheat, war, or contest one another for supreme power. And Urwin does well showing the USA has competition to be reckoned with.

Looking up the statutes was helpful & it is important to read through the explanations of all the answers to understand a particular statute or statutes. I found the analysis in the hypotheticals very helpful since his answers are exactly how our professor wanted them to be - "open ended". And yes, I did well!

I love the Examples and Explanations series. The book on Civ Pro was perfect. The Contracts book was very good. This book disappoints because it doesn't provide explanations.
This edition refers students in almost every paragraph to look up a portion of the UCC or refer to a statute or case. Instead of explaining Sales and Leases, this editions tells us on every page to look at a provision of the UCC and discover the truth for ourselves. It might be fine as a supplement to online law school, but given the huge amounts of text law students have to read, it is almost useless as a concise explanation of the subject.

Helpful Supplement.......2007-01-22

This book saved me in my Sales class and helped me grasp the UCC. I had no idea what was going on until I cracked this book the weekend before the midterm. I took this class as a first semester 1L with most students as 3L's who had taken Commercial Paper. I got the second highest grade in the class! Most of the analysis is based on unamended Art. 2, so if your professor teaches on Revised Art. 2, then you'll need another supplement.

Not Great.......2006-12-09

This is a really poor E and E. I find most of E and Es really helpful, but I'm no better off owning this one than I was without it. The brief explanations of the topics at the beginning of each chapter do not suffice. Furthermore the questions are fairly straightforward and extremely leading, but this can be a problem with most E and E's. If you are buying this just to get the hypos then by all means go right ahead, but do not think that you are going to learn sales from reading this book. You'd be better served spending your time on your Course Outline.

Not very useful.......2006-09-18

I'm not interested in reading this book from cover to cover, but there isn't any other way to get information out of it.
1 - The table of contents doesn't list the chapter subsections, making it hard to figure out what chapter contains the information I want.
2 - No table of cases! Every law reference book should have one - there's no excuse for it being missing.
3 - Pathetic index - only 2 pages long. I almost never found what I was looking for.

If you are interested in reading the entire book front to back, it might be useful. If you want to read a bit at a time to supplement your casebook as you go through the semester, you will be frustrated.

Highly recommended - Should be required reading.......2000-02-05

I highly recommend this book. It really should be required reading, especially for couples before marriage and young people in general. While it does contain a chapter on how to get out of debt, even those who are not in debt would benefit greatly from the understanding they would gain about credit and debt.

Mr. Blue discusses "the magic of compounding interest" and how it can work for or against you. He also outlines four common sense rules that should be followed before going into debt of any kind. He specifically discusses credit card debt, car loans, and mortgages as well as church, business, and investment debt in light of the four common sense rules.

The book is well-written and easy-to-read with real-life examples. It will help those who are in debt to get out, and, if Mr. Blue's advice is followed, it will help anyone to make wise financial decisions in the future.

Anyone reading this book, and putting its ideas to work, can accomplish the goals set forth in this publication. Easy to read, practical, entertaining and truthful are but a few of the praises I place on this book. What it professes really works. I have tried it.
