I am a student studying to be a teacher. I tends to be very frustrated with the terms that i either didn't know or, forgot what it means. Until my professor recommended me this book. I was in awe and am very grateful to have this book. This book helped me through my school years. There are many terms that are not in regular dictionary, such as "Teacher-centered". This book has the defition! I don't know if there any other books like this one.

Mahoney's book can be considered an excellent reference work for individuals in the field of manufacturing literature. It contains information on almost every manufacturing concept or idea presented in the last 50 years.

The author, R. Michael Mahoney's, years of experience and training as an engineer are evident throughout the work. The book is written in a straightforward style. Material is presented matter-of-factly. Many explanations are provided in the form of over a hundred charts, graphs, tables, Venn diagrams, and mathematical equations.

"High-Mix, Low-Volume Manufacturing" is not a casual read. It is meant to be analyzed and studied in order to gain the insights described within the text. Mahoney details concepts and ideas in order to help the reader understand the techniques and tools needed to successfully operate in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing operation. The best approach to the work is to read it in stages. This allows the reader to fully grasp and understand the topics discussed prior to reading to another section. The work is well positioned as a reference book

This book is both an overview and focused point of view to Project Management. It is a good option to understand the hole context of a Project and how to improve your knowledge and results during the life cycle of the project and for your career.

Condensed Intermediate Text on Project Management........2003-04-07

This is an excellent treatment of the vast body of knowledge that comprises project management. The author does a great job of explaining all the principles of project management in sufficient enough detail for a new PM. Of course, it is not a thorough, in-depth treatment of the field and the author makes no such claims. There are examples and exercises used throughout that make the book even more valuable.

Even though this is an especially useful book for new project managers, I think even experienced ones will find some benefit by having it in their PM library. Refer to Dr. Harold Kerzner's book 'Project Management - A Systems Approach to Planning, Scheduling, and Controlling' for an advanced treatment of the subject. Refer to Rita Mulcahy's 'PMP Exam Prep' to prepare for the PMP exam. A good book for beginners is 'The Little Black Book of Project Management' by Michael Thomsett.

The only book I would say is comparable to this one at an Intermediate level is 'The Complete Idiot's Guide to Project Management' by Sunny Baker and Kim Baker. It is a slightly better book and less than a third of the price of this book! Bottom line, you can't go wrong with this book if you have the money to spend on it.

Rory Burke is in my opinion the world's number one in project management. This latest book proves it yet again. We use his project management techniques daily on our software development projects. The author has done moderate work on the book. It is easy to read and conceptualize. However, the price is too expensive and definitely cannot complete with these following books (not exclusive and not sorted in any order)

This policy paradigm has been proved wrong: entrenched antagonism between firms and regulators, and greater environmental harm, have proved to be the dominant outcomes. This book re-focuses environmental policy analysis by demonstrating how behavioral models can be applied within the field to better understand the propensity of the firm to engage in pro-environmental, innovative activities.

The book develops an essential tool for environmental policy analysis in the context of technical change. A rigorous theoretical and methodological framework is applied to identify sources of firms' willingness (or resistance) to engage in cleaner production and to evaluate under which conditions the firm's pro-environmental, innovative behavior may be fostered.
