This book is a history that explains the adoption of the US Constitution in terms of what the proponents of the Constitution were trying to accomplish. The Constitution was a revolutionary document replacing the confederation mode with a complete three-part national government supreme over the states. The most pressing need was to allow the federal government to tax, to pay off the Revolutionary War debts because in the next war, the United States would need to borrow again. The taxes needed to restore the public credit proved to be quite modest, however, and the Constitution went far beyond the immediate fiscal needs. This book argues that the proponents’ anger at the states for their recurring breaches of duty to the united cause explains both critical steps and the driving impetus for the revolution. Other issues were less important.

This is a very good collection of articles on the historic long-term interconnections of global history. It is an attempt to understand human history as a whole by coping with diversity of tongues and concepts that different cultures have used to guide their conduct and understanding of the world. The principal prisms of interpretation are the center-periphery analysis, with a focus on hegemony and rivalry within the structures. The contemporary world has a history of more than 5,000 years with the rise to dominance of Europe and Western civilization as a recent and plausible passing event.

An average sales book with "old school" scripts. The outline, or format, of some of the scripts are strong and can be forged into usable stuff.

Example of what I mean: The "Don't Interest You" Script: "How is it possible that saving money and saving time don't interest you? Wouldn't doing both make your business stronger?" page 43.

I Got Great Ideas from this Book!.......1998-03-31

This book provided great scripts that can easily be integrated into our selling process. I especially found the section on "Overcoming Objections" relevant and useful. Our company sells service; not a product and the scripts were very applicable to our business even though we do not offer a "product".

As a child of two moms myself, there were few resources that positively modeled my family situation. "What Are Parents?" is an honest, endearing and sweet portroyal of what it means to be in all kinds of families that are uniquely special. I only wish that I could have seen this book when I was growing up. Kyme and Susan Fox-Lee are to be applauded for their heart warming portrayal of families of millions of kids who the media denies exposure or acknowledgement. I hope that "What Are Parents?" can reach and touch all the different kinds of families it joyously portrays!

I'm a grandmother who is raising my grandchildren and I love the way the authors included all families. Parent is a word that describes "love", someone who is willing to do all the things that is necessary to raise and care for a child. I believe that the author's book really talks about the issue on a very basic level that children can understand and not feel like they are alone in being in a non-tradional but loving family.

I love this book! The book is really what the word parent is all about! The words are filled with love and the pictures is wonderfully illustrated. The first time I read the book I cried. You can tell that the authors was speaking from their heart also the book is really fun to ready over and over again because it rhymes. When I purchased this book my daughter who is 3yrs would not let it go. She slept with it, watch T.V with it, and wanted the book to go in the bath with her. I recommend this book for all types of families not just families with two moms. I'm looking forward to reading more books from the Authors Kyme and Susan Fox-Lee.

I bought this book because Tim Sanders, author of "Love is the Killer App" recommended it. I wanted to like this book but I'm sorry to say there's nothing new in it. Save your money for the next Seth Godin book.

Surprisingly Powerful!.......2004-03-16

I recently prayed and asked for guidance about what steps to take in regard to moving into the next phase of my business, and surprisingly one of those steps involved reading Mr. Livesay's book. And so I did. What I learned about myself was almost as priceless as the secrets so passionately shared through this very timely book.
