              Too much if and buts and excrutiating detail that didnt apply. But it is a great guide and has pertinent real-world examples. You might wanna check other books on credit before you get this one. Not dissapointed because I am not going to get another book, but maybe if Amazon would give us a little more than the first page and ten pages of the index, I would have a better idea of what I am buying.

              I Followed the advice in this book and was able to get 11 bad things off my credit report. Some were true, some not, but it really worked.

              I bought this book because "Guerrilla Guide to Credit Repair" was very informative, but I wasted my money. The book is a big ad for the author's new Credit Insider online magazine that costs a mere one hundred and twenty five dollars a year. Since "Guerrilla Guide to Credit Repair" was published in 1994, I was hoping for some updated information, but there was nothing new in the book. It wasted a lot of space on forms that you would be sent anyway if you needed to fill them out. Too much space was also wasted on discussing how you could take the credit reporting bureaus to court and it appeared to me that key points may have been left out. Guess you have to buy the magazine to get all the good advice. Spend your money on a better book.

              I know it sounds crazy, but after reading this book I felt like I knew Kung Fu when I was dealing with the Credit Bureaus and my past creditors. I had wonderful success prior to this book with the strategies that I learned from "Guerrilla Guide to Credit Repair", but when I started using the strategies from this book, I took it up a notch. In a few instances my creditors read the letters that I developed from reading this book, and simply gave in to my requests. The straetgies require a little time (A few months)a little typing and a little postage, but it yields amazing success. In fact, I have even begun helping others to recover their credit. God Bless Todd Bierman and Nathaniel Wice.

              4 out of 5 stars Pretty good -- if you want to know how to sue.......2001-08-23

              I bought this book hoping to find out how those credit repair scams work. Todd Bierman doesn't go much into this as I'd like. He simply refers you to his other book, titled "Guerilla Guide to Credit Repair).

              The Fix your credit workbook concentrates on how to demand reparations from credit agencies and what to do if they don't respond to your demands. He goes as far as provides stock letters for the credit agencies and a step-by-step guide on how to SUE in federal court by yourself.

              I'm not a lawyer, but I think its foolish for any lay person to sue a credit agency in federal court without a lawyer. But Bierman does do a good job in case some bold soul out there wants to know how to file a petition in federal district court.

              I just ordered the Guerilla Guide today and am anxiously awaiting it. The Fix your credit workbook is well written and a must have to deal with these pesky credit agencies nowadays.

                  It is very hard to find valuable B2B literature around. Because of media hype and market valuations it seems (until last year) everything written in eCommerce was about B2C models. However, times have changed and now we are looking more into B2B as the saviour model of eCommerce.

                  I bought this book convinced it was a B2B book but it isn't. At least 50% of the chapters and 50% of the "examples" shown correspond clearly to a B2C text. Maybe the worst part is that they are so mixed you start to loose focus on what you wanted to read the book in the first place !

                  It is a nice "general eCommerce book" but will never be a classic on B2B. If you want insights on B2B look elsewhere....

                  5 out of 5 stars Practical, Comprehensive, and Lucid.......2000-11-14

                  This can be an invaluable book for any company which is determined to cash in on what the subtitle refers to as "the business-to-business e-commerce bonanza." (I found it interesting to note that the same principles which O'Connell advocates are also relevant to B2B2C.) In the Introduction, he asks "So who are the new power brokers in the corporate e-commerce market? How are they using online business-to-business applications to turn their annual ledgers from red to black? What do their award-winning Web sites look like? And what's in store for the commercial online industry in years to come?" To answer these basic (and imperative) questions, O'Connell draws upon a wealth of information which includes new ideas germinating in small cubicles, and on corporate drawing boards nationwide, feedback from online discount suppliers and dozens of online experts, revelations within real-life case studies, and what he calls "infoboxes, sidebars, and colorful industry profiles." Lots of good stuff.

                  In the final chapter, O'Connell shares some especially interesting forecasts. For example:

                  * According to the Gartner Group, in the run up to 2003, almost 75% of European companies will under budget e-business transformation costs.

                  * According to Forrester Research, one-third of all Europeans will use the Net via mobile phones in 2004.

                  * According to a research study conducted by PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 1999, 67% of Asian CEOs stated that they believe that e-business will have a significant impact on competition in their industries, while 47% stated they believe financial services will be the sector most significantly impacted by the Internet in the next two years.

                  This book will be especially valuable to small-to-midsize companies with relatively limited resources. O'Connell suggests all manner of strategies and tactics to assist them when setting up (or improving) an e-business Web site; where to locate and what to learn from the hottest B2B sites; how to market e-business; and how to use e-business to create value-added benefits for suppliers, partners, customers, employees, etc. If any of this is of immediate and urgent importance to you and to your own company, obtain and read a copy ASAP. Better yet, have the other key people in your organization also read it, then conduct an off-site 2-3 day workshop with the book setting the agenda for group discussion. By the workshop's conclusion, the group should have formulated a game plan which must then be implemented with passion as well as precision. Good luck!

                    Small businesses now constitute the most dynamic element of growth in the emerging markets of the Central and Eastern European region. This book argues that the small and medium sized enterprise (SME) sector has contributed more to the growth of these countries in transition than have privatized state enterprises and the public sector. In 1989 most of the countries of Eastern and Central Europe were still under an economic system dominated by state-owned enterprises. Since then a process of liberalization has been unleashed to promote free market policies. This has involved programs of privatization and restructuring of public enterprises, as well as the promotion of policies to enable a private sector to develop. Small businesses are creating thousands of new jobs while large companies are "retrenching and downsizing" their work force.
                    In some countries of the region this process is much further along than in others. However, the SME sector has developed at a more rapid pace than has the privatization of the large public companies. There has been a flurry of new enterprises springing up throughout the region which are "trickling up" in a frequently hostile environment against tremendous odds, and yet managing to have a pronounced impact on their respective economies. Small businesses have taken over in sectors that used to be dominated by big enterprises, primarily in services and consumer products. They have provided a crucial outlet for pent-up entrepreneurial talent that had remained dormant during the long period of state domination.
                    This work urges legislators, policy-makers, and development agencies alike to take account of the importance of the SME's in their legislation and planning. Given a more favorable environment, these small businesses will provide even greater impetus for economic growth. Equally important is for entrepreneurs themselves to be convinced of the rightness of their path in societies that have traditionally looked down upon profit-seekers as unscrupulous and selfish. If the CEE region is to achieve its full potential of economic growth, policies and support mechanisms to promote the SME sector will be needed to assure a favorable environment.

                          This book represents a departure from existing textbooks. Rather than covering methodology, the book introduces decision support systems through real world applications, and uses spreadsheets to model and solve problems. It uses management science techniques (statistics, simulation, probabilistic modeling and optimization), but only as tools to facilitate problem solving. The book embraces George Dantzig's dictum as its premise: "The final test of any theory is its capacity to solve the problems which originated it."

                          The book is used in the core MBA program at MIT's, Sloan School of Management for the class titled: "Data, Models and Decisions". It is used in over ten universities in both core and elective classes, including Stanford University, Chicago's gradute school of Business, Babson College, among several others.

                          The book contains many real business cases from the authors consulting experience. It uses The Economist's annual Big Mac Index in place of the traditional basket of services used in PPP research. The author demonstrates that this is a good solution to the index-number problem since it is readily available and more appealing as an international monetary standard. The book also shows how The Big Mac Index could have been used to predict the Asian Currency Crisis and the Mexican Peso stand-off where more traditional economic measures failed.

                                This is an excellent book to get a fast and accurate overview of patents -- what they are, how they are created and defended, etc. Although some books have more detail (e.g., "Patent, Copyright & Trademark: An Intellectual Property Desk Reference") have more detail, this book condenses it into the necessary parts which are excellent for beginning jurists, expert witnesses, or someone contemplating creating a patent.

                                Though a little bit dated (published in 1999) this is a great little book for those people who just are getting the hang of Email to those who just want a bit of a refresher course. It's not overly long, it's easy to read and gives little snippets of "real" people experience as they adapt Emailing to their every day needs, be it at home or at work.
                                Joan Tunstall has managed to make a boring subject interesting, with pratical hints, tips and ideas on how to get the most out of Emailing without it taking over your life. There are nine chapters to browse through, and you can either go through the entire book or you can skip through it to find what you want. As someone once said to me about using electronic mail, "It ain't Rocket Science, but you've got to know the basics."
                                A good cheap reference source that might not be the most up-to-date book on your shelf but it could be a useful tool to have on hand just in case.
