I've never read anything quite like this book. The author, who displays an unusual depth and breadth of knowledge about the system, has selected twelve cases of "actual innocence": people who have,through "bad" eyewitness accounts, heresay evidence and/or outright corruption been unjustly convicted and jailed for many years. The stories are HEARTBREAKING and told with great clarity. Fortunately many of these people (several of which have already been exonerated - though not compensated!!) have legal teams and other committed professionals (such as the author) who labor on their behalf pro bono. It seems that the only way our justice system can be reformed is through media exposure, and this book is an eloquent example. Today New York, tomorrow, Texas . . . .

After attending a Tom Peters seminar, in which he recommended this book, I purchased it. He was right. There are some very good ideas in this book to help women understand and accept their role better. Women don't get it that what they are naturally good at is a major asset in the business world not a drawback! This book helped me to realize that I need to use my female traits as positive influences in my world of negotiation. I'm really better equipped at this than I once thought--and so are you.

I was unfamiliar with the author but took the advice of some of your reviewers. I was disappointed greatly. These "tips and techniques" were nothing more than obvious common sense. I have been a sales professional for close to twenty years and found nothing new, impressive or cutting edge about this book. I have to wonder if Ms. Joy has ever sold anything besides this book. Would I recommend it? Perhaps for the recycling bin. Just one woman's opinion.

I was very impressed with the clear thinking and insight reflected in this book concerning the special needs of women in the `sales arena.' Very few books address the issues that women must face in a field that has been dominated by men (in the past). This book provided me with the confidence needed to create a successful business. For anyone interested in how courts deal with juvenile crime, and for anyone who thinks there must be a better way, read this book. Drawing upon the simple, yet profound idea that children do not turn into adults on a single day, the authors elaborate on the deficiencies of a legal system that is, in fact, largely based upon just that notion. The chapters help us to envision a legal system that would see adolescent development as a gradual and continuous process, and that would not allow prosecutorial ambition alone to determine which young offenders should be held criminally responsible for their actions.
